Hi John and welcome to the forum. If the imaging side of your astronomy interest starts to take a stronger hold, you might want to think about getting hold of a copy of Steve Richards, "Making Every Photon Count". It is a comprehensive guide that will tell you what you kit you need to get in order to take good consistent images that will meet your own expectations. The key thing is to get the information on board BEFORE buying any kit as the demands of imaging are quite different than those for observing. This book is modestly priced with a good layout and is at least a good read for when the clouds come and unfortunately stay in!

Clear skies for now and hope you enjoy the forum

James
