Orion Constellation with nifty fifty

Woke up early this morning at 4am to a beautiful sky with some patchy clouds & had to hurry out with my equipment to make the most of it. Orion is finally appearing again in my sky and what a welcome sight it is!

Single ISO800 300s Exposure taken with 50mm f1.8 "nifty fifty" @ F4.5. Only processing done is colour balance in PS.

Unfortunately I couldn't take more than 3 subs before the clouds rolled in, but I thought the result was decent & worth a share.

I bought my nifty a couple of months ago, primarily for this constellation, thanks for sharing the pic, I'm getting excited now !!! can't wait to have a crack at this

I woke up at 4:30 this morning and saw Orion for the first time this season.

I thought about it for about 4 seconds and went back to bed.

Thanks for sharing though, maybe I might just give it a go.

Nice, and you've got some of the loop in there.

If I took a 300s exposure it would be bright orange!

Nice one, got my first sighting this season last weekend too. You've got the Horse & Flame showing too. (Hmmm.. that sounds like a pub )

Thanks guys! Going to image both M42 & Horsehead some time in the coming months with my 200P as well.
