Annotate images

Hello Ant, I was hoping for something less manual. Some sort of template that you place over your image to identify the faint fuzzies

I use Aladin for the job. It's a bit of a learning curve, but here is what I do:

I am currently working through my Markarian's Chain widefield (http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/194430-widefield-markarians-chain-plus-m87-m89-and-m90/). I've checked about half the image so far (spent most of Sunday on it) and so far I've positively identified and annotated 125 galaxies and expect I will probably be in the region of 200 or so by the time I have finished. Watch this space.
