knobby
Its pretty big... About 3 times the size of the moon, pretty faint too, needs dark skies and patience Use piccie attached at about midnight
crashtestdummy
You will likely only see it as a dark patch of sky at low magnification but its too large to get in one view.apparently better in binos with a filter
swamp thing
My tip, get to a really dark sky with an O-III filter, that's all you need. You don't even need optical aid for this, it's huge. The naked eye will pick it out. Bins is the next best option......scope last. This object is all about sky darkness and transparency, not aperture. Tiki
You will need either an OIII or UHC filter. It is very easy to look through the nebula without realizing it. An easy way to find it is to pan a little way from 62 Cyg towards Deneb. The edge herabouts is relatively easy to spot.
michael.h.f.wilkinson
I prefer to look at NGC7000 with binoculars, or the 80mm rich-field scope, rather than the 8" scope. The latter sees right through it.
cotterless45
NGC6992 is an easier and brighter target when the skies are dark,Nick.
