Star near moon

Looking at the moon with my 13yr old son! Nice bright star next to the moon tonight!

That would be Spica.

Yes, just got a surprise myself - nice and blue. It should be getting close to Saturn in a day or so.

If the star is right next to the moon then its Spica. If its to the left a bit then its Saturn .

Similar up here too at times.. but in the clear patches there's some cracking views of Sinus Iridum & Montes Jura. The lights just right, really stands out.

I spotted the moon yesterday, but Spica did not manage to peep through the thick haze
