ND Filters with a Coronado PST

Hi all. Does anyone use a Neutral-density filter for visual observing with a PST? It's just that I find the solar disc a bit uncomfortably bright, and I'd like to dim it a bit.

I never do with my LS35, I just up the magnification a bit

i use one of the variable polarising filters from the celestron set with mine

I find that at the 40X magnification I like to use the PST at it tends to be dimmer than I would like.

I tried my photo filters. A ND.2 will take the edge of it, and a ND.4 dims it just a bit too much, and you start to lose detail in the proms.

Generally there's no need for additional filters with the PST.

The CP polarising filter would give best control......
