M31 2nd attempt

Had another go at M31 tonight.

This is the result of 15 frames of 60 sec each and 9 dark frames stacked with Deep Sky Stacker. It was my first try at stacking so I'm still finding my way around the program.

As usual, taken with the canon 350 and aided by large amounts of coffee.

The gentleman doth protest too much, its a great image. Loads of detail, dusty bits, round stars, what more could you want? (apart from the bits that got chopped off).

Keep doing that Andy, the result speaks for itself.

Well the coffee certainly did it's job - truly excellent image for such a relatively short total exposure time.

No protesting here KK, just surprised at how well it turned out. I only hope I can remember what to do with Deep Sky Stacker on the next image.

BTW the bits that got chopped off? Deep Sky stacker ate them.
