Captured slightly later than my previous image.

2 1/2 mins per filter processed in AS!2, R6, WinJupos and PS5. I've tried to be a little more subtle on the processing than my previous post. There's a little bit of red on the right limb and blue on the left so I obviously didn't get WinJupos quite right though.

Yeah, that's lovely! I love those smaller, pale effects in the clouds below the GRS and Junior - I guess they're storms of some kind too, or perhaps jusst atmospheric effects?

GRS Junior clear too - tell me, does anyone know what the small solid little spot is (I think it's red, but I am stoney colour-blind so forgive me if it's not!) that seems to be accompanying Junior at the moment? I've seen it on a few pics now. It doesn't look as swirly (technical definition :p ) as GRS, but looks a lot more concentrated...any ideas?

Once again, fabulous pic Freddie!

Thanks guys.

Carl, the cameras I use (as do many others) are ImagingSource cameras which are specialist planetary cams but work in a similar way to webcams as they catch images in an AVI file. They capture many more frames per second than a webcam though. For this pic I have used a 4x barlow. I have used the mono cam so have also used a set of RGB filters.

Derek, no idea exactly what that dark spot is but I know it is a cloud formation rather than a moon shadow.

Hi Alan, it's not a direct comparison as my DBK has the older chip than in my DMK. The DMK is MUCH MORE sensitive though. The amount of processing involved with the DMK is more than 3 times that for the DBK as you obviously have 3 sets of images to process and then have to combine them. I think the results are worth it when the conditions are good. I tend to use the DBK when conditions are not so good though as it's unlikely I'd get a series of decent R, G and B AVIs.
