Max size eyepiece SW skyliner 200p

Simple answer: Stick it in and try it.

You have the scope and you have the eyepiece, just give them a go.

I will bet that if people say not really that you would go ahead and try it anyway.

Without trying it the answer is possibly.

It wil be towards the limit of the scope and will depend on the eyepiece.

If a plossl then I suspect it will be poor to very poor, you will also be almost wearing it like a contact lens.

If it is a planetary then more respectable results.

If a nagler, ethos, delos then better again.

A 4mm will work some days and not on other's just depends on the "Seeing condition's" , i have a 5mm for my scope most of the time its not very sharp, but on the good days viewing Saturn you could count the rings, Global Clusters they look like you could touch them,,,so if its affordable go for it.....

Personally I think with our skies in this country about x200 is about the limit. If your scope has a focal length of 1000mm f5 then you will get x 250 or if it is a dob f6 then you are looking at x300 which for me would be pushing it a bit. But as Capricorn says, chuck it in and give it a go.
