Unexpected!

while I was walking home last night well past most peoples bedtime the clouds parted and I was treated to 5 quite impressive meteor trails, 2of them with trails that seemed to last almost a couple of seconds. Our village turns most of the lights out at 1am so pretty good viewing. Happy days are here again?

Interesting, are the lights shut off for economic reasons ?

It would be great to find reasons to propose to the local councils, do the same in other village's, like mine for instance.

Happy days are always here if the lights are off after 1am. Awesome stuff :-)

they turn all but main junction lights off to try and save cash, makes it vrey dark on my estate.

Sounds like a great idea. Cant help thinking if they turned lights off where I live there would be a rush in security light installations.

Yeah, and unfortunately, that would probably result in an increase in local light pollution.

Let's face it, most people are scared of the dark and that is why we will never win the argument - doesn't mean we have to stop trying though does it?
