My first Saturn (1st May 2012)

So here we go, 1st attempt at imaging Saturn in between clouds as it's been rather cloudy for a while!

I am very pleased as I have been able to resolve the Cassini Division, which I still have never been able to view directly through the eyepiece! ;)

With Celestron Nexstar 6SE, X2 Barlow, Philips SPC880/900 and IR filter. Processing in Registax 5.1.

Clear skies!!

Many thanks for the kind comments! :)

WayBig, thank you for the histogram tip, I still have so much to learn with registax!

Brighter result attached. (Maybe I went slightly too bright?) A bit blue, sorry ;)

....an RGB align might fix that, just use the estimate button in Reg... ;)

I have now become addicted to the tweaking, tweaking again and again!! Even if I still don't know what or why I'm doing it, the result speaks for itself!! Yippee!

Now desperately awaiting a break in the clouds to go fishing for more AVIs!!!

Thanks again for all the advice :)
