I have a Celestron Astromaster 130EQ, and want to buy a solar filter to observe the sun through my telescope. What should I buy and from where?

Have you thought about making your own white light filter using the Baader solar film and some cardboard

It's pretty easy to do and the Baader film is very good.

If you type "solar filter" into the search facility here you will find lots of threads on how to make one. The solar Baadar film you buy comes with full instruction. Its quite simple.

"its quite simple". Ive built two using the instructions and they fell apart in weeks. My fault as i am USELESS at DIY projects. Now i would prefer to buy a ready made one.

It really does work and is very safe once there are no holes or rips in the film after construction.
