The new Skywatcher Esprit 100 ED 5-element apochromatic refractor has arrived :p

skywatcher_esprit_100ED.jpg

The compact 5-Element design includes two ED elements. Most importantly, the design puts all five lenses in front of the focuser, leaving a free back focus of more than 150mm. A large variety of accessories, both widefield visual and widefield photographic can be combined, without the need for additional corrector lenses. The large field covers more than 5 degrees of sky. Astrophotographers will also appreciate the fast f5 focal ratio.

For specification and an up-to-date price of this and other Skywatcher Esprit telescopes please see our website.

What discount can you offer on the 150 :p

:):p:p

Seriously, regarding pricing, the Skywatcher's Esprit series are premium products but are available through all and sundry so we fully expect to be lowering our price in-line with box-shifters over the coming days.

The review images link from the 150ED page is broken.

Oops. Link removed :p

The pic of the 100 is a 120

Oops 2 :)

It now shows the correct picture, the one at the top of this thread has also been updated.

Was trying to add it to the website and post here whilst moving premises...

... is it a different design or the same triplet objective with doublet field flattener?
It is a different design, I'll request a schematic.

Does this scope require a field flattener if used with an APS-C sized sensor?

It will cover a C-sized sensor without a field-flattener :p

How about if paired with a 35mm sensor like the 5D Mk II?
Not sure, I'll make enquiries. These are early days.
