SW

Yes it was! And yes, it was very bright, -2.7.

UK chaps, keep an eye on its next pass in an hour's time:

As for the question of observing it in detail, only the largest scopes, 10"+, under very good steady skies can detect its "T" shape and even then it's a tiny object. Ive' seen photos taken with such scopes and though its shape is obvious, any more details are lacking. Then there is the problem of keeping it in view as it "races" across the sky.

I'll see if I can find the photos again and if so, will post the link on this thread.

It's amusing (in a pleasant way) to think of all these people spread all over the UK separately watching that same thing at the same time (me included, of course). Shame it was shaded from the sun halfway across its second pass.

I was sat waiting for it on its first pass tonight, I watched a video of someone trying to image it yesterday and thought I'd have a look for myself tonight. Its the first time I've ever seen it.

Will it go over again tonight? if so, what time? :)

Tomorrow looks like it will be even brighter -3.0 between 18:45 18:50 - WSW to SSE
