Eyepiece for double stars

what would be a good ep to use for double stars with tal 100rs and vixen 80m custom around the £30-£40 price range

thought about the vixen NPL 6mm

A good eyepiece for binaries is one that shows sharp views with minimum light scatter. The Vixen NPL Plossl might be just right although I've not used one personally. An alternative might be an orthoscopic - your budget would get a used "volcano top" ortho easily. You might even get lucky and pick up a Baader Genuine Ortho although those usually go for a wee bit more that your top end.

you can usually find used volcano top university optics orthos for around 25-30 quid.

I am fairly sure there are a couple of volcano tops on ABS at the minute, a 4 and 7mm if i remember correctly.

what about a used William Optics 6mm SPL. First Light Optics - William Optics SPL eyepiece

I have never used one but have heard good comments.

thank you for the suggestions so far, keep em coming, might look into an orthoscopic as i have a couple of them (9 and 12.5)

The Williams Optics 6mm is a good ep, got mine s/h and performs perfectly on stars and doubles, but a bit expensive new, better to get an orthoscopic, will be cheaper s/h in my view
