Anyone else getting excited about the Geminids?

Not too long to go now to what i consider to be the best meteor shower of the year.

Mostly seen as slow and bright meteors, the Geminids are real treat if the clouds stay away.

The waning gibbous moon is going to wash out most of it as it rises mid evening and is still up at dawn The Quadrantids, early hours of Jan 4th with a new moon is likely to be more visible

I hope that I`ll notice more than last time when I waited for Orionids. At my lat cloudy weeks finished but begun foggy ones. Maybe with new moon something will change for better.

Thanks for that Kev. I hadnt checked if the Moon was going to be a factor or not. I did manage to spot a few Quadrantids last Jan.

One shower at a time, Leonids is just about upon us. It's my favourite shower of the year.

I think round where mine is there's so much LP the Moon makes ****** all difference

The Orionids were a bit of a let down tbh, saw three I think it was. And I'm not sure I've got the patience for meteor watching. Still, at least the lawn is mown now so I can watch without getting a crick in my neck.
