Hello everyone. I go by tazzilla a name I came up with over 10 + years ago. I am from Idaho and really enjoy taking pictures and working on my 68 Mustang coupe. Stargazers looks like a great site to learn more about the skys and get a bit of help with my picture habits.

I j ust made my first telescope purchase last night bought a used Celestron nexstar 4 GT. I paid $80 I think it was a good deal and hope it will do what I want and that is take pictures of the planets and other cool stuff in the sky. I plan on using my Nikon D3000 paired up to it. Any tips or ideas would be great. Thanks Taz

Hi Tazzilla and welcome to SGL from 1,000 miles south of you.

Good luck with your astrophotography, but be warned you will soon be afflicted with 'aperture fever'. Four inches is just the start, soon you will be lusting for something bigger!
