Just picked up a Public Consultation questionnaire from the library. The questionnaire can also be completed online

Part night street lighting: Your council - Derbyshire County Council

Proposal is from midnight to 5am.

Might be an idea if you're living in the county to complete the form.

Imagine, actual darkness.

I'm sure that the County Council , as part of it's Highways duties, is responsible for street lighting and not the local council(s). We see plenty "county boys" around.

Derby City Council recently signed a 25 year contract with Balfour Beatty to handle all street light service and maintenance within the city of Derby and the city council said they have no plans to reduce street lighting at night so it's not looking very hopeful. :D

More amazed by the fact your council consult you, ours in Shropshire just tell us what they are going to do and shrug off objections, even if they are voiced by every man, woman and child in the county. Luckily they are going to do the midnight to 5am thing too, though probably not in big towns.
