AR10953 on a sunny Sunday

Here are a couple of shots of AR10953 taken on the 29th April 2007. Reasonably clear skies today with some steady seeing.

As this sunspot has moved into view it has shown more complexity.

Superb solar images Pete. There appears to be a prominence everywhere on the suns limb, or are they artifacts of some sort? I would guess not. There seems to be some almighty tension around that group. I am no expert on solar dynamics, but it looks like it could crack off at anytime.

Beautiful images, especially the second one; the texture is breathtaking. I so want a PST, but I'm going to have to save up. At least I've got a while before the next solar maximum
