What Eyepiece next? .. Hyperion

Hi all.

I am thinking of getting my first "decent" eyepiece and have tried a hyperion before and think will go for one of them. I can really only get one this year but possibly 2 as saving all my cash for a house

Question is ( an i know everyone is different ) what size would you go for.

I have a 200P and currently have the following

Celestron 32mm Omni Plossl

Skywatcher 9mm UW 66 Degree

Skywatcher SP Standard 6.3mm Plossl

TMB Clone 5mm ( rarely used )

Standard 10mm / 25mm Skywatcher. & 2x Barlow

Your views as always greatly appreciated.

What is your main interest - Planets/moon/double stars ie. objects requiring high powers or nebulae/galaxies/star clusters ie. objects requiring low - medium powers and how much are you aiming to spend ?

This is the problem I look at everything so I will most likley buy 2 hyperions but what size?

Its a tricky one.

Sorry should havr been clearer. I pretty much will be looking at all objects. Kinda throws it off a bit

I use a 21mm hyperion with my 8" act, It's a good all founder, I'm looking to buy a 13mm next. You can use them with 1.25 and 2" focusers, also another cheap option is to buy the fine tuning rings which again change the magnifying effect of these eyepieces, there are very cheap compaired to buying another eyepieces stright away.

Looking at your current EPs, I would suggest a 13mm to start with. Mine allows me to fit the entire Moon into the field of view - lovely sight

For the second one perhaps the 21mm?

I have the Baader Aspheric 36mm and it is a cracker, and so far have had good clear views of the Moon and decent views of Jupiter.

I'm watching this with interest as the Hyperions have been suggested to me in another thread.

21 mm as it doubles up to 31mm in 2" fitment or 13mm as said fits in nicely with your range

I have found that the 13mm range is a good mid-range for smaller nebula and clusters and will show enough detail in moon and planets, a good quality ep like the Hyperion will blow you away.
