Recommended Posts

I was giving a Maplin 13.8v regulated mains power unit that is 7 amps can this be used with a HEQ5 PRO mount.

The book for the mount have got ,

(The synscan should be powered by 11-15v DC power supply (tip pos)capable of producing continuous current of minimum 2 amps.)

I have check the unit out and its ok the regulated is only giving 13.8v .

12v is just a kind of default description - most DC power sources (powertanks, leisure batteries and the like) will give about 12.8-13v when fully charged and most mains supplies will give 13.8v... the HEQ5 Pro needs 3 amps tops so a 7 A supply giving anything between about 12.6 - 13.8v will be perfectly fine.

I too use a similar Maplin one to the one Steves using...
