any ideas what this is please

hi all, long time no see, i wont go into specifics but its lovely to see you all still here. question please: i took this 20 second image of polaris earlier, just to the left of it and slightly down you can see a long item, looks like a cigar. i have no problems with my lens etc, has anyone any ideas what this could be?? there were no aircraft etc in the area. thanks all.

no, its a brand new canon 500, i tested it against a white area, everything is clear, this is distant.

It's a satellite, bet you a fiver.

It will be an iridium flare, it brightens and then fades away over a few seconds just like one.

But it does also look like what the Enterprise does when it jumps to warp....

Looks just like a Galaxy? only it shouldn't be there lol. Am stumped

There are star trails in that image, so it could be making the "thing" look longer than it really is

Too fuzzy to be a satellite flare/track - maybe a satellite fuel dump or a meteor ion trail?
