I must be nuts! I got up at 04:00 for this. :shock: Two images overlaid, one over exposed to capture the moons.

It's very difficult to get a detailed Jupiter and the Gallies without doing what you did. You have done a fairly good job of it, and I am sure the next time you try it will be a bit better. Don't even suggest you wasted your time L48, you didn't, that is a very acceptable picture of Jupiter and it's four main satellites.

I'm waiting up to have a look at Jupiter tonight (scope's in the garden cooling down as I type) which is much easier than getting up early. Surely that pics worth the effort though?

Oh, I think it was worth the effort. It's just that at my age I need my beauty sleep. I feel like a zombie for a few days after an early morning foray.

It's working well SR, but I think the main thing is that this week I finally figured out how to Polar align and so I've been able to use my RA drive. It's made a heck of a difference, both visually and for imaging.
