I suspect it's not far off mag 11 now. I imaged it last night with my 90mm refractor and 2011fe was far brighter than any of the other stars between us and the galaxy.

It really is quite striking at the moment - more so than the supernova in M51 was in June.

Could you post that image? I thought I picked up something which I could not place with Stellarium, but the sky was not fully dark when clouds rushed in. When I still had clear views mag 11 was about the limit I could see around M101.

It gets more and more brighter at the present time.

I went to observe sky the day before yesterday.But the weather was not very good,full of fog,so we chated.M101 droped to skyline unconsciously........

And a girl stays with me......You must understand what I thought.
