Recommended Posts

was in the process of doing this the other day but was beaten to it by nightfisher :)

here is my orion optics 8" newt slightly jazzed up with some carbon vinyl i don't like white tubes very much

was a really headache trying to get round the focuser as i couldn't see anyway to get the thing off the tube but got there in the end

looks good, i will send a bill for royalties:D:D:D

how did you get on with air bubbles?

who will be the next to post a carbon clone:D

had to do mine in 2 bits because of the length of the tube first half went on like a dream. 2nd bit because of the focuser was a lot more tricky so there was a few bubbles but they are very easy to deal with by either pushing the bubble to the edge of the vinyl and out of by making a tiny hole with a stanley knife and smoothing over with cloth

did my finderscope with what i had left over as well which may have been overkill but didnt think the blue finder would go with the carbon

Just waiting for the new sticker to come from OO looked into getting a custom one made as well

But then thought why not email OO and see if they could supply one which they did for £5 bit steep for a little round sticker but will finish it off nicely

LOL I want to do the opposite to my MN190, as I like the white. Should probably have bought the Orion Mak Newt instead (which is white already).

How about a swap I will take the vinyl off my OO so it's White then I will take your mn190 and you can have the OO

Deal ??? Lol :)

I think I'll keep mine white, I can see it in the dark that way! The carbon does look good, who knows perhaps this is how OO make their £22k scopes!!

Well their not known for the finishing touches so you might be right :)
