Another Crack at M13

had another bash at an easy one last night, not happy with collimation, thank goodness for Noel Star Spikes Pro 2 That software rounds off odd shaped stars as an extra bonus, also in Star Spikes pro 2 there is a lot more control over what you can do...

Do you know this dodgy Ps Trick for sorting stars?

Rotate image till trails are horizontal or vertical.

Copy Layer.

Blend mode Darken.

Filter, Other, Offset.

Shift a pixel or two on the relevant axis, x or y, to suit your trailing orientation.

Apply a value that is a little too much.

Edit , Fade Offset till stars are round.

Naughty but nice.

Indeed a nice image.

What I could add to Olly's very good advice here, is that you can blend 50% and / or blend using LUM only and / or blend normal at 50% too (after you've done the darken). Several combinations of the above would bring you to the promised land.

I.e. Naghtier - but nice too

I'd also recommend you push up saturation on the stars before processing and get a somewhat "richer" feeling.
