Can you carry it with the tension handles? or are you supposed to take it apart, position base then put the scope back on?

Hi

Congrats on the purchase, the skyliners are great scopes. Yes you can carry them with the handles, they are designed for this (you'll notice the sturdey sized screws). I've done this many a time with my 10" version. Sometimes a struggle cus its a beast! Enjoy your new kit, good times ahead .

I recommend not putting it away through the short nights either. You can get some beautiful views of double stars through May-July despite the light nights. I found my skyliner excelled on double stars (surprisingly)

I wondered the same thing, probably some sticky stuff remover or white spirit would do it. I want to put some Televue ones on

not removed it incase its one of those savage metallic ones and leaves a big black mark where the paint used to be
