  1. A ZWO T2 - 1.25" Filter adapter so you can use smaller (cheaper) filters from, Flo.
  2. Nice detail! perfect sky, is that because your in Ha? Well worth more goes! Must take a look at Ha filters, but it's going to hurt more than my £24 IR pass I suspect. Thanks for uploading that.

    M3

    From the album: Deep Sky

    M3. Explorer 150p, Asi 224mc, IR Cut, 60x 1 sec.
  4. Took your advice and got the HLVG plugin for PS 64bit, and it is much better than my attempt with Filter Background in Affinity. Really pleased with the result. Can also use the same plugin in Affinity. Thanks!
  5. Thanks Roy, As you will have guessed the sky was not that black before "adjusting" it, but was a whole lot better than no filter, this was the ZWO 1.25″ IR 850nm Pass Filter, I really do think it cuts down on the turbulence, and if I had got on with setting up and caught it at transit time rather than well past and over a house it could have been a lot better. There was too much gradient in the sky to make a mosaic, I did try but gave up with it. The scope was by now in direct sunlight and getting hot! It would be interesting to see an H-alpha for comparison. Venus next 🤔
  6. With Affinity, but going in the right direction. Yes it was very green I see now. But considering I started out with greyscale, I think we did ok!
  7. An update from ZWO technical. tech@zwo It will create a folder named 'ASIVideoStack_Output' at the video in the same directory as the video, you can find the fits files here. Also: Regarding the sharpening level that didn't work, could you uninstall the ASIStudio, then reinstall it? don't install on drive C.
  8. @wimvb Success! This is great, thanks so much! Still a bit noisy, but I can work on it. Not bad for 1 second subs!
  9. Thanks Wim, I may have found the solution from what you have said, in Affinity there is the option RAW, as soon as I put it to RGGB colour appears! It was on Inferred. I will stack it again, and see what I can get out of it.
  10. Somehow after imaging the Moon with an Asi 224mc + IR 850 Pass filter, I decided to try and image M3, I am pretty sure I took the IR Pass filter off, and replaced it with the IR Cut. But how did I end up with 60 frames of 1 sec, with no colour at all? [ZWO ASI224MC] Auto Exp Max Exp = 30ms Auto Exp Max Gain = 300 Auto Exp Target Brightness = 100 Bin = 1 Brightness = 1 Capture Area Size = 1304 * 976 Colour Format = RAW8 Debayer Preview = ON Debayer Type = RGGB Exposure = 1s Flip = None Gain = 480 Hardware Bin = OFF High Speed Mode = OFF Mono Bin = OFF Raw Format = ON StartX = 0 StartY = 0 Temperature = 18.3 C Timestamp Frames = OFF USB Limit = 100 USB Port = 3.0 White Balance (B) = 53 White Balance (R) = 52 Stacked false colour: Thanks for any insight.
  11. The Sharpen Level slider in planetary imaging after stacking, works for a while, and then stops having any effect after a few images. Deleting files does not fix it, the only thing that does is a re-install, it's all going a bit Beta at the moment.
  12. I continue to be amazed at what you can do with a dob. Is it driven in any way?
  13. Found some FITS, so this is what deep sky stacking looks like. But apparently there is something wrong with my FITS. Reset laptop, sharpening still not working, it was this afternoon.
  14. It certainly did a good and fast ~ 1.5 minutes job of stacking an avi, there are no settings to adjust with that like alignment points or anything else, it just does it. I can't see there are any options for the output file other than the given jpg, which is disappointing, as I see @neil phillips has just mentioned. In Autostakkert I always select TIFF output. I don't have any FITS files to try, some TIFFS from PS did not work, hopefully somebody will come along and do that. I appear to have broken it, the sharpening level no longer works.
  15. I cant see this has been posted before, and this seems the best place. released yesterday 24/06/22 ver 1.6 . I have looked and can't find release notes, but I have just tried it on some lunar avi's and it works great, but output is jpg only. It will also stack deep sky FITS or Tifs.
  16. I wanted to see what could be done in bright daylight ~ 11:15am Thursday, with the filter. Explorer 150p Asi 224mc + IR 850 Pass Autostakkert, best 10% 0f 1,891, PS
  17. Having delved into it more, and several YouTubes later, I'm coming to the conclusion you are right! 👍 So much hidden in there, and the stacking seems better than DSS.
  18. Came across this last night, it's very good! By AstroStace Basic Astro Image Processing with Affinity Photo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4luNi0hspIM Also Affinity Photo https://www.youtube.com/c/AFFINITYPHOTOofficial/videos
