  1. Could be worth emailing flo and see what the say, some sort of cctv adapter is probably available somewhere with the correct thread to the guidescope.
  2. Niceeee. 😊 Your going to have fun with that when the skies clear again. Will look forward to your reports on your experiences πŸ‘ At least with the cloudy skies you can start building your darks library.
  3. I power my az gti, 294mc pro from the AAP with no issues. As I said my 2 dew heaters are powered by a seperate mains USB Hub. If I were to have a bigger mount I wouldn't power it via the AAP but with its own supply. But no issues powering the az gti πŸ‘
  4. @LaurenceTmaybe able to help you here as he posted a similar type of thread here I just use a USB Hub strapped to the leg of my tripod and stick a black recycling box over the mains socket. It depends how much the dew heaters, will draw from the AAP. I'm sure I've heard some users report cameras disconnecting due to lack of power. Cheers Lee
  5. It's very interesting to see the actual size of the dso in the sky rather than just how we see it on a screen in our images, nice work πŸ‘
  6. Thanks Ray. I'll give it a watch, hopefully my brain can cope haha. I generally just image verything for 180 secs 😬, except M42 where I did 30,60,120 and 180 secs and combined. I am a baffoon though 😁. Just watched it now, (scrambled brain anyone, maths always gets me failed my gcse back in the day, but understood what he was saying) I shall have to look on my copy of sharpcap and work mine out but in my rural skies I 'think' I'm in the right area of sub exposure length? Though it looks as though I could use less cooling than my current - 10 degrees.
  7. Similar to how mine is set up, except mines a 72ed, lives attached to the mount and carried down the 2 flights of stairs to imaging area, marks on ground too. Though not much chance of imaging atm with late nights and very early work starts. Roll on nights pulling in haha. For a first image you should be proud of it, my first were awful compared to yours. Once you get into the swing of imaging you can push for longer subs. Cheers Lee
  8. Fantastic work Ray. Really pleased you've had your first light now and it's a superb image for your efforts πŸ‘, looking forward to what you will achieve with your setup. How did you find your experience from pa through to packing up for the sessions. Cheers Lee
  9. I have the same camera acting as my guidecamera with the zwo 30mm f4 guidescope and although I use an asiair pro I connect it to this and an EQ dir cable from AAP to az gti mount. So I'd expect it to be much the same/similarish for you with a raspberry pi to guide. (I don't know much about the raspberry pi but same principle as a AAP) πŸ‘
  10. I'm not actually sure. Looking at the attachments of mine, am I correct in thinking the top right and bottom left are to close to the sensor as the value is higher and needs to be almost the same as the centre value? Its a shame that the tilt adjuster doesn't have 4 sets of screws all 90 degree's apart so you can easily alter one corner independently of the rest. The stars in my image doesn't look to bad zooming in but the level of tilt suggests differently.
  11. @900SL I hope you don't mind me jumping onto your thread here. I've always suffered with a lot of tilt on my setup and thought I had it just about sorted, though I don't think it's to bad now. I was quite fascinated by the function in Siril to check the tilt on the images that I ran mine through too. In all of my images the top right and bottom right are always the higher of the readings suggesting tilt in that direction. Now my question is as I have a tilt adjuster fitted to my 294mc pro, which of the three adjustment bolts need adjusting to correct this tilt. I have 3 bolts in total all at 120 degrees apart one at the top and 2 at the bottom. The percentage of tilt over the images ranges for 12 to 19% Cheers Lee
  12. Could you post a picture here too of the star trailing Did you manage to move the alt az adjustment bolts now as was suggested in a previous thread of yours? As fine tuning and adjusting those for your PA is essential. For the longer lens on your dslr I'd use the counterweight bar and dovetail that comes with the SA 2i then you can easily pa through the slot without moving your dslr. The small ball head dovetail adapter is great for short wide angle lenses but for a longer weightier lens like your 70-300mm it's best to use the counterweight dovetail and bar. Regarding your wanting to guide you will have to find a way of connecting the guidescope and guidecamera to your setup. There's a link here to someone who has done this on CN. But remember the SA only tracks in RA. So you need to get your PA very accurate to still guide and prevent trailing or drift. https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/658263-another-beginner-looking-for-advice/ My advice would be to learn to walk before you can run with your setup. Try getting to know it, setting up, getting your PA sorted and practised, get all the basics in before you begin delving into autoguiding. Just have fun with your setup to start with. πŸ‘ Cheers Lee
  13. There's only a very minimal amount of inwardness to the stars around the edges I'd say at had to zoom in quite a lot to see that. Maybe try a thicker shim from the 533 box if you wanted. I can't comment on the field flatness software. From the issues I had, I'd be well happy with that πŸ‘
  14. How is the tracking going with your star adventurer at the moment, are you having issues with it? As Michael saud what is the focal length of the lens you are using? Cheers Lee
  15. The camera should hopefully screw onto your FF reducer
  16. I have the 294 mc pro and the amp glow is easily calibrated out, I've had no issues with this. I was like you too with 533 v 294 and there's many threads on it here in the forum but the bigger sensor won me over and I've seen some amazing images with an 80ed and 294mc pro. Regarding my earlier post about the AAP, I belive your looking for easier set up that just works. From my experience with my AAP it's a no brainer. Yep you're tied into zwo but I find that a comforting thing and not bothered by it. Also worth looking in flo clearance offers thread some good discounted items πŸ‘ Cheers Lee
  17. Hi I've been hard at work trying to take on board your suggestions and trying to bumble some sort of consistent workflow for my astrophotography processing and believe I've made sone progress today. Just using the new graxpert gradient software on my linear data then just processing in photoshop cs4, using starnett 2 to stretch the starless version and pasting and merging back in ps. I'm really pleased with how this looks compared to earlier processes. Just finalising the workflow now so I know it well. The blue channel has all the bloat so will figure out how to sort that. I'm fighting the bloat with my zwo ir uv cut filter until I've enough money for the L3. Hopefully you can see the improvement. Cheers Lee
  18. Hi I'm pleased you got it working well now with your eq wedge and everything worked and you had a great session πŸ‘. I do have mine on a WO eq wedge 😊 Regarding the tracking in a mode did the attached screenshot not show on your AAP software. I know mine is in EQ mod mount shown here. Cheers Lee
  19. Definitely asiair pro or plus in my opinion, simple to use, helps PA, user friendly and one system running everything. There are other options but this just works out of the box and controlled via tablet or phone. πŸ‘
  20. Knowing my luck it would be cloudy that day, even up there at L2 πŸ˜‚
  21. I have now sorted this issue tonight. I've just made sure the spring had pulled the worm into contact with the gear and tightened the spring nut and bolt down so no spring activation now, this was how I had it before. (May need to turn the sound up to hear the RA clicking in before video.) RA before.mp4 RA after.mp4
