  1. I took 30x dark, flat and flat darks, I've added it in the post now, sorry
  2. Thank you, really pleased you like it, I'm learning slowly with processing 👍
  3. Thank you, I will gladly seek your help when creating the sticky
  4. Thank you Laurence 👍, I'm quite happy with it, may reprocess it though. Don't think anymore integration time on it will improve it now. I particularly like the little companion galaxy NGC 5474 to the bottom right is very cool.
  5. Here is my rendition of M101 taken this week over 2 nights for a total of 4 hours worth of exposures here in North Cornwall, even with the bad transparency. Skywatcher 72ed AzGti eq mode, asiair pro, zwo asi294mc pro and guided with zwo asi120mc-s. 80x180 sec subs, 120 gain, - 10°c 30xflats and flat darks, darks Stacked in Dss, processed in Startools and a high pass tweak in photoshop.
  6. I will put this in the deep sky imaging section but wanted to post here to show you guys first. My efforts on M101 this week, 4 hours worth, processed in Startools with a small tweak in photoshop for high pass. 80x180 sec subs 30 x dark, flats and flat darks Even the transparency didn't ruin it too much 👍
  7. Good point Laurence. One I thought of a few posts ago with the alignment issues on here. Most phone apps point to magnetic North and not geographical north, unless some have a setting to change it. Cheers Lee
  8. Just think once it's all sorted and you've a trusted workflow and settings range, you'll be able to just set up and image then relax with a wee one and peruse the night sky with a set of bins as you image.... Side note I don't always settle down with a wee one when imaging 🥃 Cheers Lee
  9. Thank you @badhex for giving me the push to start the thread, it sure has proved invaluable place for the az gti community. I feel we are all becoming good friends on here, sharing help, stories and advice, keep it up guys👍, @powerlordcame up with a good suggestion of creating a sticky of page numbers with certain info in it that will prove helpful, one day I'll get around to it when there's a real cloudy period and now clocks going forward have more time, so sometime I'll try 😊
  10. It does sound like an improvement indeed for some reason. Maybe the mount needed a bit to hone itself in, the seeing or transparency got better or wind dropped calibration could be any number of things, I'm pleased it's settling and you'll see a big difference with dithering, can't wait to see your results. You're doing great Steve 👍😊
  11. That's a pity with your guiding being rubbish tonight, every set up is different I guess. Probably better to concentrate on one thing first with your gsdin and exposures if the guidfing isn't to bad for you. I know with my set up anything after the southern meridian is awful on guiding for some reason (maybe need to shifts the weights up a bit?)but before the southern meridian my guiding is great. Good luck with your session tonight Steve 👍
  12. Nice 😊, hope it goes well tonight. I've not trued m102 before. I got 4 hours on M101 past 2 nights and trying a few cheeky subs on IC405 until it disapears over a neighbours roof, guiding is a pain tonight with the gentle breeze in my wind tunnel area. Then will go on Markarian's chain for a bit, good luck 👍
  13. Brilliant, so pleased you've managed to sort it and your mount is performing well, good luck on your next outing 👍
  14. Looking good for your camera and integration time. 👍 Is the new 1.9 asiair version still beta?
  15. Similar to the answers above but I bought this usb hub and powers both my dewbands and flats light panel, nice that you can switch each port on and off. Powered USB Hub, atolla USB Hub with 4 USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Data Ports and 1 USB Smart Charging Port, USB Splitter with Individual On/Off Switches and 5V/3A Power Adapter https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B099MLL1FG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_KKHFPRB4SH5RJB4BMB18?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  16. Your imaging camera is cooled so you can create a darks library to cover your exposure time, gain and temperature any time of the day. Flats are best taken when you finish up your imaging session for the night. I don't know about bias as I dont use them but I think taken at the end of your imaging session too. Flat darks are taken at the end of an imaging session too. Rightly or wrongly this is what I do 👍 Cheers Lee
  17. Yep you're right, though how I do that is beyond me. One day I shall have to go through the thread find the page number of various pieces of information and do it that way (then place in a sticky at the top 🤔)
  18. Just seen this whilst perusing the mounts section on sgl..... WOW! Hot topic, you guys are making this thread an invaluable source on the brilliant az gti mount, thank you! 🙏😊
  19. Thank you, its not always there it'll go to 2.0 at times but is hovering around 0.6-1.0 mostly these past 2 nights anyway with no wind. Hope it's all the tweaks to the gubbings doing it 😊
  20. Hopefully you can glean some nuggets in there Steve. You are doing brilliantly, it's not easy this astrophotography lark, I still dont know half of it about guiding just what looks nice in the image taken and a nice flat graph too. Keep it up you are all doing so well and once it's sorted it'll be only a minor tweak here and there and just sit back and watch the subs roll in 👍 we are all here to support each other (I need help in spelling haha) 😊 Cheers Lee
  21. I hear you Laurence, it's progressing towards my M101 target, I can barely make out the 4 body stars of Leo to the south, not been this bad in months 😔
  22. No problems Ray, like I said to Laurence on the post above, I'm not saying they are correct but hopefully give you an idea. I used to have my aggression settings very high to start with but learnt that the graph was up and down like a, saw blade with huge teeth. This link may be of some assistance too. https://eastwindastro.blogspot.com/2021/02/how-to-adjust-asiair-guide-aggression.html Here the link to the whole blog site, some interesting reading 👍 https://eastwindastro.blogspot.com/ Cheers Lee
  23. Thank you Laurence, shame they didn't go up in order but hey, hopefully they give some ideas. I'm not saying mine are correct, just what works for me and I do tweak the aggression settings or the gain on guidecam sometimes but not by much. I'd say the transparency tonight is worse than last night but will still try to get get more data on M101.
  24. @RayWUK @bomberbazhere are my quick screenshots of settings for tonight.
  25. Hopefully you can get your set up outside soon to test it all out, good luck Steve. Cheers Lee
