  1. The only difference I can see from my set up is the larger ra gear. So for this reason I shan't be investing 🐲and save up for an eq5 pro
  2. Nice chatting too Joe πŸ‘. Nebula photos review on next
  3. Probably in the region of Β£480-560 I'd think, going on the usd price, but could be wrong
  4. Astrobackyard and nebula photos are doing reviews on YouTube after this
  5. Astrobackyard and nebula photos are doing reviews on YouTube afterwards Nebula photos review
  6. Star adventurer gti product launch on skywatcher webcast here.
  7. There's a product announcement live on this skywatcher webcast now here. Maybe the star adventurer gti??
  8. I took these images back in the middle of March when I last had clear skies even though the transparency was rubbish hence the rather blurry Markarian's chain as of was low down on the horizon during the saharan dust that plagued us. Only short integration time on both, the owl nebula not a great target for my scope but really into nebula imaging and wanted to try it. M97 & M108 45 mins Markarian's Chain 30 mins 180 sec subs at 120 gain, calibrated with 30 flats, darks and flat darks. Set up. Scope: sw 72ed AzGti eq mode ovl FF Imaging camera :zwo asi294mc pro Guide camera :zwo asi120mc-s Asiair pro Processed in Siril and ps
  9. Thank you, I have to edit this I didn't do a second autodev as I said, it was a film dev as trying again this morning yeilded a horrible result using second autodev. So edited the previous post.
  10. Not the best video to show the mount off, just him gushing at it. Will wait to see a proper review of it, having a search of his channel there are a couple more videos on the mount
  11. Thank you. Yep I agree it's a bit underwhelming, I've seen others in narrowband imaging, so I thought I'd give it a go in broadband just to see what is possible. Its a very dense star studded area too.
  12. Just a refresh on my processing of IC405. Autostretch, bin 50%,crop, in Wipe I set the correlation filter to 1 pixel and vignetting, film dev (edit the second autodev yeilded to much stretching and horrible results) contrast, HD, sharp, sv decon just selected 1 star, colour using stars as samples, shrink in tighten mode with halo extend to 7 pixels, in super structure increased saturation to 170%,small noise reduction. I'm gimp I did a star reduction, then photoshop for a high pass, then astroflat pro, small noise reduction with astro tools. A lot of bits of software and I know I'm goofing about but happy with the process I'm getting. Just need to colour calibrate my laptop as I didn't look like this on there. Cheers Lee
  13. Thank you, I may just need to use 1x5kg cw with my setup. πŸ‘
  14. Deffo try the Pi4000, the platesolving with make it a breeze. With my asiair pro it just makes it so much easier being able to plate solve a target.
  15. Thank you. I'm hoping to put the cw in my back pack with the rest of my gear. Then maybe carry the tripod and mount down first, then carry scope down, reattach and connect the wiring up. Just thinking logistics of carrying it all down and back up It's not easy living in a first floor flat and having astronomy and astrophotography as your hobby and passion. Really envy people with their own back gardens I'm definitely going to go with the Eq 5 as my next mount, thank you. πŸ‘
  16. Yep I have the asiair pro so pa is done all through it an easy just sitting in a chair. I have read in places about the eqm 35 not having bearings but bushes and the eq 5 does have bearings and watched numerous videos on stripping both down to do maintenance. So is the eq 5 any heavier than the eqm 35, as you say and I've noted that they are the same price. I will put the counterweights in my backpack and hopefully carry the scope attached to the mount and tripod out to my imaging area. Cheers Lee
  17. That's awful Ray, feel for you. 1.What is the rest of your set up besides the az gti and 72ed? 2.How do you polar align with your az gti again ? 3. How will a guidecamera help your alignment? Sorry I can't remember as covid has addled my brain. I'm no expert on the synscan app anymore so hopefully someone will be along to help you. I agree these late nights now and early morning starts aren't any good for me either (when I get clear skies again) can't wait for autumn so I can get back to it properly and still image the summer targets. Cheers Lee πŸ‘
  18. Hi George You've confirmed what I was thinking. The more I look at it the more the eqm 35 suits my needs (when I can afford it). With my set up coming in at just under 4kg should suit the mount very well. Thank you for your thoughts and feedback. Can I ask did you suffer with any of the stiffness in RA and dec or did you tune it out. Cheers Lee
  19. On a very similar vain to the above replies, even though I use 12v mains power with my asiair pro, I power my az gti mount, zwo asi294mc pro imaging camera and zwo asi120mc-s guidecam (though it's only USB) from it, so yours portable 12v power supply should work. πŸ‘
  20. Thank you πŸ‘, I've seen the astro biscuit video and did see Daves comments on the eq 3-2 and eqm 35. I used to have a eq 3-2 in a previous set up then sold it. That's why the EQ3 pro caught my eye too as its essentially an eq3-2 with goto and lighter but kit with steel tripod. The eqm 35 looks a step up from that and as you know I'm not scared of tweaking mounts, I will very much doubt I'll choose to upgrade my scope to larger as I'm very happy with it. My az gti would then be paired with a 102 or 127 mak for planetary and lunar work. Still got many months yet until I'd like to get an Eqm 35, EQ3 pro or eq5 though.
  21. Hi I like the look of the eqm 35 mount and thinking of maybe upgrading my az gti mount in the future (whenever funds recover) to with the eqm 35 or eq 5. For me portability is key so that rules out a heq 5 completely so please don't suggest one πŸ˜‰ as I live in a 1st floor flat and need to be able to carry my setup down and up 2 flights of stairs. The eqm 35 looks quite portable indeed, I've read that the RA and Dec is quite stiff, can anyone support this or had no issues. My sw 72ed, 294mc pro, 30mm guidescope with zwo asi120mc-s and asiair pro all come to 3.9kg. So it's doable with the eqm 35 and Eq5 pro What are your thoughts on your eqm 35 please. Both are roughly same price so that doesn't come into it, mainly its the weight of it all. I also looked at the EQ3 pro but the gears were a bit inferior compared even though its light. I will not be upgrading my scope anytime soon so no worries in upgrading to an 80ed or bigger, I'm happy with my 72ed. Cheers Lee
  22. Thank you, looks great, you certainly got more Hydrogen alpha out of the tail. I shall give it a go again in Star tools, and not push it as much in the auto dev and not do to much fiddling in the modules, cheers πŸ‘
  23. Been reading through this thread and it sounds amazing. In currently using an az gti on eq mode with my sw 72ed, 30mm guidescope, asiair pro and 294mc pro. Lightweight and portable are my key requirements, living in a first floor flat and carrying my setup down stairs to my imaging area. So this has piqued my interest a little. The mount seems light enough but sturdy enough to take my setup of 3.9kg and still retaining portability. I shall follow this mount when considering lighter weight astrophotography mounts. Eq5 and heq5 are simply to heavy for my situation. The eqm 35 also is an interesting option too.
