  4. A stonker of a clear night at Kielder (all the better for having not been predicted). Remind me to speak to whoever produced that Clearoutside app… ;) Currently (2;30am) sitting relaxing watching Orion rise, some meteors, whilst listening to some Geordie accents to my left, A fellow Scot to my right, a group of Glaswegians nearby too and a serious snorer on the other side of the path… If I can make it to about 5:30 ish I should get to see Jupiter, Venus and Mars all close together (Jupiter a...

    Sunset

    From the album: La Palma

A sunset shot... we had several fantastic sunsets in La Palma, mostly missed by me setting up other kit or eating/driving up the mountain. If I ever get the chance to go again I will definitely be concentrating on some sunrise/sunset photos!!

  11. From the album: La Palma

A crescent moon setting over La Palma from the north facing side of the Roque de Los Muchachos. The astronomers accommodation is visible to the far right of the picture and clouds down near sea level (about 6000ft lower) reflect the moonlight. The Milky Way is coming into view on the left of the picture. A single picture can't give you sound (yet) but at this spot the sound of the cicada's was almost deafening unlike a few hundred yards the other way in the caldera whee the sound of the mosquitos is almost deafening... 20 seconds through a Canon 6D, 14mm Samyang lens at f/2.8, ISO1600

  19. Given the amount of cloud I can see out of the office window progress is proving extremely slow on this Sorry...
  20. I haven't found a forecast for the UK that's ever that accurate although ClearOutside is often close... I tend to use the green colour as guide - on the way home if it shows any green over the evening/night I'll check Sat24 to see the reality and go from there. There's been a couple of nights this last week where if I followed the regular forecasts (BBC etc) I'd have stayed in and suffered through my wife watching Eastenders only to find it had been clear but the sight of some green on ClearOutside had me checking Sat24, seeing there was indeed a clear patch and setting up James
  21. Unfortunately it's spot on here in East Devon, I say unfortunately because it's predicted clear, it is clear, and I can't get out James
  22. Keep at it Nick :) I'd love to be out testing but the rain and wind seems to go on forever... James
  23. "and has a reticule" Excellent... :) Looking forward to it... for that matter I'm also looking forward to clear skies but I'm not optimistic. James
  24. Currently imaging with an Atik camera on a Mac.... :-)
