    M33 LUM R Stretched

From the album: James' foray into the Dark Side

Early version of M33, Luminance through a Borg 77EDII @ f/4.3 captured on an SX-H694. Some work is still needed on my spacing between the reducer and the camera I think, I'm nearly there though. About 20x 5min subs.

  5. You like doing things the hard way then eh?? :) I'm really looking forward to giving this a go... especially when it's integrated into some other vendors software. James

  8. Aaargh... the suspense... don't tell me the people it got sent to think that celebrating new year was more important!?? ;) :)
  9. For me Nebulosity is the deal maker/breaker so it's good to hear that Nebulosity is an option/possibility/probability? :) as it's the only app I use for image capture/guiding. The two other apps I use most are Astroplanner (author Paul Rodman) and SkySafari although in each case I leave control of the scope usually to EQMac and neither are really relevant to camera control. Another possibility is Equinox/Equinox Image by Darryl Robertson. It's mostly SBIG oriented but as a Mac user I've always wanted to link in Equinox into what I do.. James

That'll be James, Greg and Jon methinks :)
  18. It's in Orion, just a little way south of Alnitak (the left most star on Orions belt) :)
  19. Hi Paul - unfortunately visually through a telescope the view is nothing like that, it's just a bit of a smudge really in this instance. The image is the result of about 15 hours worth of light gathered on a ccd chip. The 250 Dob should do you well though - just wait until you point it at the Orion Nebula or a few nice globular clusters :) J.
