  1. Thats a bit special - fantastic colour and detail.
  2. Thats a super image. I always like it when there are back ground galaxies lurking - IC4263 i think in this case.
  3. Beautiful image. I'm not usually so keen on starless images but this one works because there is just fso much dust and clout.
  4. I dont generally get much out of star cluster images and tend not to image them myself. But I think that image is strikingly beautiful.
  5. Thats a great image and I definitely prefer it with the stars.
  6. Sorry Stuart, I could not get past gradient removal. I was producing the most horrendous background using my whole arsenal of ABE, DBE and LP removal in APP. I Really donk know why that is because you've got a nice BG in yours.
  7. After seeing this on a diffeent monitor, I had to agree with @alan potts - it was a little over saturated. So a very slight de-sat applied;
  8. Thanks Alan, yes this field includes the Christmas tree cluster - rotate the image 90 degrees counter clockwise and the triangle shape with the cone nebula at the top is the Christmas tree - its more obvious in LRGB when the colourful stars look like fairy lights!
  9. Having believed I was finished with the winter nebulae for this year, the weather decided to present be with three clear skies in a row - almost unprecedented out here. But of course full moon was smack in the middle of those three nights. So there was no point in trying for galaxies and i therefore set up for what I could get with the L-enhance - it came down to about 2.5 hrs each night on the cone nebulae. Then the scope was parked up under clear sky - breaks my heart!! The middle night on the full moon also had a bit of haze so not great. The l-enhance does a reasonable job but it does allow some moon leakage which made processing quite difficult. So this is around 8 hours of 180s subs, SW 80 ED, ASI2600mc L-eNhance. I must say I particularly like the fact that Hubbles variable nebula is so clear. I'm going to try to grab some RGB stars to stick on top if i get some moonless sky this week.
  10. Thats really nice, well done.
  11. That is a stunning image. Beautifully processed. Like others here I cant understand why it is so rarely imaged.
  12. No need to be intimidated, thats a good image, you have got lots of the faint gas emanating from the main body.
  13. Both are really nice but as a direct head to head I'd plump for the first, red version. I think it has more depth and an almost 3D feel.
  14. Each year around this time the venerable (25 y.o.) 8" LX200 GPS on its wedge is trundled out to get some galaxies. This time with the Canon 700D bolted on. I know its far from perfect but its nice to get "up close and personal" at 1960mm FL (I use a SW 0.85 reducer because my Meade 0.63 is worse than useless) This is 100 X 180s (5Hrs) @ISO 800, 8" LX200 GPS, Wedge Dont pixl peep as the stars are horrible!
  15. Thats just fantastic. Such a wide range from dark nebulae to the bright centers but all perfectly balanced. Beautiful.
  16. Excellent images - I particularly like the M100
  17. Thanks Jim, yes we are never done re-processing are we?
  18. After my disaterous first light attemp with my Sharpstar 61EDPH too close to the bright moon, I got another go at it without the moon and was able to confirm that the moon was in deed the issue. this was about 4 hours with the 61 EDPHII, with an L-pro and the ASI2600mc.
  19. Thats really a bit special - well done.
  20. Hi Jim, you found you way over! Thanks for the comment David
  21. Thank you. The map says Bortle 4 but there is a nasty old sodium streetlight just on my north perimeter. Hence the L-Pro.
  22. Thank you. This was 140 x 180s, Gain 100, with a 2" Optolong L-pro
  23. This was my first effort to capture the IFN around M81 and M82. Its 7 hours with the SW 80Ed and the ASI2600mc
  24. Here is a good article related to this and the links at the top take you to table for all the different makes and models. Very useful. http://dslr-astrophotography.com/iso-dslr-astrophotography/ With my Canon 700D I pretty much stick with ISO 800
