  1. No, rebar, as it need to be hammered into the side walls, and the bottom of the hole, you cant do that with bricks and pieces of concrete...
  2. I would leave the dimensions of the pier as is, especially the base plate, the bigger the better with that, also 2 foot cubed hole is enough, but you want to think about putting rebar in before you pour the concrete, hammer some into the side walls of the hole at angle aswell as some hammered straight down, it will make a big difference..
  3. If anyone is really interested in a proper comparison to the rpi3b+ then this is the video to show you the massive difference...
  4. Try Stellarmate, al the hard work is done for you, mind you at a cost it’s $49...but for me as a Linux dumbo, perfect.
  5. Ubuntu mate 18.04 works pretty well on my rpi...as Stellarmate is now based on 18.04..
  6. They have them here too https://www.elektor.com/raspberry-pi-4-b-4-gb-ram think they are in Europe somewhere... 😀
  7. Well the 4gb ones are selling out at the two outlets, PI hut and Pimoroni...so not sure if available anywhere else..
  8. Yes, I got mine from there earlier...but was going to order two, but only allowed one.. 👍
  9. I know, I just spoke to Jasem, and he did not know and has just got a delivery of 50 rpi3b+ and he is not a happy man at all.... ☹️
  10. Yes you can do solar imaging with Kstars / Ekos, as far as I know...
  11. Ok, I got one from Pimoroni they had them in stock.. 😀 just hope Stellarmate runs ok on it now, don’t see why not..
  12. Have you just bought a 4gb version by any chance as gone back to page and sold out now... ☹️☹️
  13. Wow, thanks for the heads up, thought this was due out next year... 👍😀 4gb version for me..
  14. With your setup why do you need a router... surely a network switch would be enough..?
  15. Sounds good, how easy is it to create a hotspot so can connect to it out in the field, as I currently have Stellarmate which has that built in, and guess that would not run on any other SBC other than the rpi...? I realise would need WiFi dongle first...
  16. What length 1/4” UNC do you need..? As I have a bag full of them, but mostly Allen head types..
  17. I get what you are saying, but I actually like the way Kstars and Ekos are an all in one imaging solution, open one piece of software and everything you need is there, no need to open anything else... I guess if you have a different preference for planetarium software then I think being able to use ekos with it independently of Kstars would be a superb idea, but I also doubt it will ever happen...
  18. Have you tried Kstars, which is basically an all in one solution, it too like CCD Ciel is superb...
  19. It isnt new code, it is just Stellarmate in a new box..exactly the same software...
  20. UNC is a little less used these days, but they may well have them, but I am still leaning towards them being metric M6.. 🤞
  21. I like the way they call or a “small computer”, and not it’s true name, a Raspberry PI .. 🤔 makes it sound more appealing I guess
  22. Hmmm, I heard this was coming out... OMG look at the price for an RPI with free software and a few power ports... 😮😮 Sorry Stellarmate OS is $49
  23. Yes I would have thought they were correct, but someone now says not....so 🤔🤔
