  1. That's what I use too, it's brilliant Nigella
  2. Just had these two short cables for powering my focuser's from the new Cq350 mount hub. Sooo disappointed it didn't contain snow. They shouldn't say, " may contain snow" if there's not a chance, but I guess their get out clause is, "May."
  3. Welcome to the forum, just have fun with your new hobby and develop your understanding and you'll be a winner.
  4. I'm happy to announce my zwo asi 178mm cameras work through the mount usb3 hub. Has to be powered via a 5v power adapter. Just having to order two shorter USB cables.
  5. Well, almost done, looking forward to using the mount for my triple scope solar RoR. Will probably do a different post regarding how the mount performs at a later stage. New flooring all put down.
  6. More progress, cemented the internal rod area and putting new flooring down today. Hopefully back up and running next week with the new mount.
  7. Took a look at the moon too, phone pics of screen. Not good at the moon, but think it's called "The Straight Wall" in the first pic, lol.
  8. Out again on Jupiter, some nice well defined festoons, counted at least four possibly five from the bottom of the NEB. Think I could see four white ovals in the SEB too. Phone pic of screen attached, not great pic, lol. Added an image from Skysafari. Probably the festoons that I observed and the white ovals.
  9. Cut off the protruding bit's of rod on top.
  10. Had another two hour session on Jupiter. Not as good seeing as yesterday although I could make out four festoons from the NEB into the equatorial zone. At the top of the NEB I could see three distinct white ovals. The SEB seemed not as mottled as the NEB although at the southern edge there seemed a few darker ovals. There was also a few dark spots along the SSTB. I also had a look at the moon. Some fascinating features which I can't name, not much clue about these. Haven't look much at the moon before. I have a new lunar atlas for Christmas so I'll go and take a look.
  11. More progress with raising the hight of the pillar. Are these rod's to long, lol 😆 Got to fill up with concrete tomorrow.
  12. Just in from a two hour session on Jupiter. Some nice detail coming through tonight. Oval disturbance in the NEB with a few festoons encroaching into the equatorial zone. Equatorial band evident. SEB broken by the GRS preceeding the spot with several wakes proceeding the GRS and several disturbances behind it in the SEB. STb darker just preceeding the GRS and continuing below and behind. Several small ovals evident in the southern polar region. I'm hoping the imaging session will confirm once processed. 13. Will do, have to raise my pillar to accommodate the Cq350. Hopefully over this weekend. My first impressions are good. Responsive under ecmod via an ecmod cable, Cart de Ciel and GSS. Communication straight away through mini pc. Did a home sync and custom Park under GSS. That's all I can report at the mo. Nigella
  14. Love to go to this but I've already spent this years allocation on a new mount, lol. Don't tempt me, lol 😆 seriously, don't.
  15. Thanks Jim, I do love fettling with equipment, etc almost as much as actually doing astronomy. I'm going to use another drain riser fitted on top the existing pillar, fill with concrete and new rod's for the top plate using rod connectors. I'll have to cut the existing rods down leaving about 50mm to connect the extension bars to then fill with concrete. Nigella
  16. It's called OCD Jeremy, lol. When I've got something that has to be done, chewing at the bit now having to wait til the weekend to raise the pillar, lol.
  17. Tried the new mount, worked first time, connected via Green Swamp Server. Hit a problem with the hight of the pillar. I'm going to have to raise it up about 25cm so the telescopes can image the sun in the winter month's. On a positive, it'll get rid of the long rod's at present shown in the pics below the adapter plate. Guess I'll be waiting another week to get this done. Pleased with the mounts responsiveness under GSS and Cart de Ciel. It's a lot bigger than the dead Neq6. Brushed the cobwebs off around the solar shed too, 😆
  18. Complete cloud cover here, must the new mount I bought 😭
  19. Thanks Jeremy, excited to get it up and running tomorrow.
  20. Revamped my old saddle plate for the new Cq350 and made a three gang double socket board for the solar obsy, long overdue socket board. All ready to go in the obsy tomorrow. Got to play with my drill press again, lol.
  21. Welcome back, not only hardware, software has advanced too. Exciting times.
  22. So, who's getting the commission, lol 😆
