  1. Very much appreciated Ken, I'll have a go myself when I get back home later today. Thanks so much for your help.
  2. lol, Ken, thanks, attached is the original input. I just used the original nose piece to the asi224mc. What would be a typical work flow in BASS project? ALPHERAT22_35_50_e11111111_ap1.tif
  3. Thanks Ken, it has been streached. Tbh I'm struggling to work out bass project at the moment. I'll post original spectrum sometime today. I've looked at the recent videos on the BAA website on the subject, I can get a chart OK but when I calibrate the calibration points are way off. Anything between 2.5 to 230+ with four calibration points and suggested wavelengths. Any help would be much appreciated.
  4. Thanks, lol. Pretty chuffed what can be done with the star analyser 100 and a 12inch f4 Newtonian. Considering Alpheratz is 97 light years away.
  5. Not scientific but a comparison of my first efforts processing some spectrum. Top spectrum is produced from my image and the bottom spectrum is of a reference star. pleased that absorption lines pretty well match.
  6. So just a question. I used a zwo ASI224mc to capture the spectra. Do I process the avi file's in the same way as normal in autostakker before I use BASS Project?
  7. Thanks very much Ken, appreciate this, will be doing the profiles and calibrations tomorrow, off to the land of nod now, lol.
  8. Thanks Philip R, didn't know I could do screen shot like that, I'm a numpty, lol. Yes I'm using the star analyser 100 and BASS software.
  9. Thanks Merlin66, I did find capture rather easy, I guess the hard part will be calibration and getting some data from the spectras.
  10. Wow, I could get hooked on this, lol. Just did a run on Three star's, Gamma Casseopia, Deneb and Alpheratz. Just a screen shot for tonight, but could clearly see absorption lines on each and in different positions with each star. Will try and process tomorrow. It's all a new learning curve. Another gain from this, is I'm learning the star name's too, lol.
  11. That's my thought exactly, seems a bit of a con.
  12. Flo do the ADM for £55. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adm-replacement-saddles/adm-dual-dovetail-adaptor-for-az-gti.html
  13. A surprise, an EQ8 R PrevNext Skywatcher EQ8-R Pro (head only) £3,699.00 Replacing the redoubtable Skywatcher EQ8, is this new improved version - the EQ8-R. Improvements include shifting the motor housings to improve axial balance in certain orientations, improved internal cable management, improved connectivity (with 3x built-in USB connectors and 3x power out sockets to run peripherals, such as cameras), up-rated clutch mechanism, improved dovetail groove knob for added comfort and increased locking power and belt drive of the Dec Axis for reduced slewing noise. The mount is available as this head-only option for those with observatory piers and also as a version with the portable pier tripod, for those who need to transport their system.
  14. I've not got the same scope, but it either looks not focused, gain is still to high or it's not tuned properly to the ha wavelength.
  15. Az gti in eq mode plus an 70mm ed or ed80mm refractor and later add guider if wanting to image. Good also for taking to dark sky.
  16. I have my Neq6 loaded with an 00uk 12inch f4 Newtonian. Very able mount, load around 20kg, tube, 70mm guide scope, cameras, electronic focusers, etc. Great build and impressive by the way.
  17. I can't do October at all, sorry peps and September is completely out of the question too. Bad when life gets in the way.
  18. In Devon my council put up two light shields on a couple of led lights next to my property. I was well impressed as it only took a week from me emailing them. Your council may well do a light shield even though they go off at midnight. Worth a try, made my side garden really dark where my observatory is.
  19. Yes, because we can, lol but seriously, scope in sunlight and laptop in doors, taking observations, more accurate when focusing during imaging and no wobble.
  20. I motorised my focuser on my lunt 60 even though there's no official focuser model. So much easier for imaging.
  21. I'm thinking the same, I'm going to wait now, lol.
