  1. This is where i first saw the process being used.
  2. Ok, so download the file, unzip it in you PI directory (don't think it matters where tbh, as long as you remember where it is). Open PI and click on the Processes tab (at the top) and at the bottom there is a "load process" option. Click on that and it will pull up the explorer window, just navigate your way to the PI folder in windows (usually c:\Program Files\PixInsight or where you unzipped it) and the process icon should be in there. Once you activate it, you then need to look in you 2nd workspace as it's in there. Just drag and drop it into the workspace where you are working. Please note that this is from memory as I'm at my desk at work, but I will check tonight if you can't get it going.
  3. You may already have found this, but I use this (Process Icon) to reduce the magenta stars in PixInsight and have been very happy with the results. https://visibledark.ca/remove-magenta-stars-from-narrowband-image-with-pixelmath/
  4. Here is my latest image which doesn’t seem to be adversely affected to me. But not sure how I would see if has been calibrated out once it’s been processed and all the frames combined.
  5. Just been checking my darks and have noticed that there is a fixed pattern across all the images (see the attached short video). I only noticed this as i was fast flicking through all my darks in the Blink Process in SGP Now I'm thinking that if these fixed pixels are at a set grey-scale value, am i right in thinking that these then hold no valuable data? Are these treated as hot pixels? Is this normal in other peoples darks? Just interested really (left click on the picture and press play) IMG_1650.MOV
  6. Here's my effort at getting a reasonable image of this target. I've seen some amazing SHO images of this, so this is my best effort to date. I know I've got something going on in the bottom right of this image, got me some strange artifacts in my OIII subs which i need to investigate. Its a good job that i'm not a perfectionist (as i'd probably never post here🤣), but sometimes we just gotta work with what we have been given. TSQ100 / 4hrs in each Ha, OIII and SII / ASI1600mm / Azeq6GT / All processing with PixInsight (Well, looking at Youtube Tutorials mostly haha).
  7. Yes, its at 21 right now, still getting to grips with these settings TBH. I'll calibrate the image tonight with my current settings first, then change them after to your suggestion.
  8. I've just managed to take 1 dark frame remotely (as I'm currently at work), but i dont have a viewer here, so I've just uploaded it here for now. Iris Nebula_Lum_Dark_120sec_1x1_2019-08-08_80.8_.fit
  9. I'll be checking that tonight and I'll probably do a new set of Darks/Flats to see what happens.
  10. Just noticed this fixed pattern on my images tonight (light grey pixels). They are on every image so far and i have added a second image showing my last session (the usual mixed background pattern). Any ideas?
  11. Any idea how much was it for "early backers" to buy?
  12. For some reason, everytime I start a new sequence in SGP the autofocus routine will start running after every single image has been downloaded. I can't for the life of me see what I've done for this to happen. Any help with this would be appreciated.
  13. Great image! Can you share your ASI1600 settings (gain/offset) as this target is on my to-do list for this year?
  14. Maybe look at the ASI290mm fantastic sensitive guide camera. I had the same problem (but was with the Lodestar 1) with my F5.8 setup. So I bought the ASI and the difference was like chalk and cheese. Now, I don't even think about it, I always have at least 10 stars to guide from.
  15. I didn't have enough space for a shed either, so I just have mine set up outside with a Telegizmo 365 cover.
  16. How does this compare with the Lakeside focuser? @RayD have you used both? As im considering upgrading to an electronic focuser pretty soon.
  17. I just use these and the battery lasts all night https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0748G9GPG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00F5Q4F0U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  18. If you are linking directly to your mount then you would need this type of cable https://www.firstlightoptics.com/astronomy-cables-leads-accessories/lynx-astro-ftdi-eqdir-usb-adapter-for-sky-watcher-eq5-pro-heq5-syntrek-pro-az-eq5-gt-az-eq6-gt-and-eq8-mounts.html (check your mount is compatible first though). Or as someone else mentioned earlier you would need a serial to usb adaptor (i don't want to recomend one here, as I've had no experience with this type of adaptor).
  19. I've recently been setting up my mount to a laptop like you and found this article very helpful. http://www.lightvortexastronomy.com/tutorial-setting-up-an-equatorial-mount-on-ascom-with-eqmod-stellarium-and-cartes-du-ciel.html
