Didn't you get the clear spot last night? Not best seeing, but always any seeing is welcome at present!

That tickled my sense of humour Paul, at least its not a baked beans puzzle. A good way to keep entertained. Hope you and Lorna are keeping OK, long time no exchange a hello.
-
Yes, its a downwards slope into your wallet! But enjoyable in the views obtained, that are after all priceless.

That's not cold, it's mearly chilly..... you have no ice on your lenses and no icicles on your nose sir!

@Stu The Artic fur hat, must be cold.

Well done for going out at all last night @JeremyS, let alone the fine achievment. I was busy giving a talk on The Moon at my club online last night, I did venture out but just with the 10x50's and only for 20 mins before I froze, I admire your dedication.

Yep, best way, hide in plain sight.

The very reasons I went from RDF (too bright) to the Rigel on the Refractor.
-
Near to the Focuser, but on the tube. I will dig out an image,on wrong pc at the minute.

Looks a very good fit Ade, shame it involved a mishap to nudge purchase though. Someone could do well with Vixen or any other Astro touch in paint.

I use a Telrad on the Dobson and a Rigel on the Refractor, each better suit the scope for balance and use. Each fitted with DewControl circuit board heaters fed via usb power packs and usb to 12v step ups, works a treat.

Looks wonderful with Andromeda on-board Steve. I will have a AZ100 one day as you know. But as I need a tripod and want the encoder model, will have to wait for my birthday to pass, or a small lottery win...

I was trying to not be scope specific, but go on then..... Admire a fine looking Vixen ED103s -

Grant, I think that is a fair reflection for many of us over the past couple of months. But you do have to admire a fine looking scope when not looking through it. -
I have the same scope and feel it performs on equal terms with similar sized 100mm Taks etc. This is the opinion of several others on this forum too. The HR eyepieces are wonderful with this scope, but my one stops at 3.4mm, not due to lack of desire for more, but funding. In answer to the OP, a 100mm Refractor of good quality will not disappoint, cools quickly, gives reasonable view even before cooled in not much time and when on the right night, which at this size if often compared to an 8-10" scope is more often, gives stunning Lunar and planet views. Its not big image scale, but a quality image, that is smaller and clearer, rather than bigger and smeared. I honestly believe the 4" APO / ED scope is the ideal UK one to own. A 5 would be great, but how much will it reduce the seeing nights? My 2p worth...

Are you sure that had your address on it.... should it not have been delivered to me instead?? Blimey, wish it was, but the pot is not quite filled enough yet, but someday soon. These mounts are superbly engineered and very solid, yet delicate control. It is substantially more solid than the AZ8, which is a stonking mount in itself.
-
That looks super Mark, the tripod looks a very solid one, be interested how it performs.

Sign me up for one Chris, love the idea, really do. Made me chuckle at a time I needed to.
-
Thanks Jason, my one concern is that I enjoy it and I have to follow what you said, The Bold Text...... but my pit is limited or involves begging.

Chris Great update and great story to the Megrez, nice one. Love the Cloud Logo at the end, how about it becoming the new @FLO one instead of the present labels ????
