Mark, that is a good suggestion, but no idea how sizes compare.
The OC1 May look Moonlite like, I think that was intentional, but that’s the only similarity I think, if the sizes are the same then happy days.
Have you got the Moonlite measurements at all?

My OOUK 10" focuser which is of 2007 vintage and the OOUK own OC1 model is worn and slipping.
Adjusts from slip/slop to too tight with less than 1mm turn of the allen keys.
Any ideas or your experiences please.
I know it is probably time to replace, the scope was used by its earlier owner for imaging so it's carried a load.
If this is the case what have you done, why and what do you think of it now?

Sounds like you were pleased Mark, I too had one of the TeleVue filters from the recent sale.
I too was out last night, but only used my favoured Orion UltraBlock on the Veil's.
Totally forgot to try the new filter, but did try my 9mm DeLite from the same sale,
With which I delighted (get it 😂), so much so I might look at other DeLites.
Your comment on M57 and a filter was interesting, was looking at it with direct vision in the 9mm last night and
was most impressed, what does a filter on this particular target bring out?

Does the AZ8 cost of around £1K include DT clamps and a tripod ?
Short answer John, yes listed at £999 with clamps, tripod and 6” riser at RVO.
Load is 35lbs per side, which is about 15 Kg.
Not sure if the AZ8 has an encoder option though and it’s not made in the UK of course.

I’m thinking £599.00 or so for just the head without saddles. 🤔🙂
Off the mark John , but the posted price is lower than the AZ8 by a decent margin.
Can also have internal encoders fitted from the images and Steves write up.
Looks most interesting indeed.
Now, how do I sell body parts 🤣 -
Thanks Steve for the images and information.
This not only looks great, but that capacity and the thought given to controls moving with you,
well someone has thought things through fully.
Looking forward to the testing by @John with the ED150 onboard 😉
I like that it comes with (additional) encoders, any idea how much this option will add?
Best I start my letter to Santa......
Dear Santa, I have been a good boy this year........ -
From the initial text, 'the scope is a OOUK VX6 F5'
Hope that helps. -

Hi Martyn and welcome to SGL and this fine hobby.
I hope your Astro Society visit helps you long the way and is enjoyable.
I am off out to my own society tonight.-

Be very interesting if it was and has a high enough capacity.

Sounds like a great session with an equally great scope Rob.
I have a soft spot for that bit of sky myself.
When you say Double Double, I take it you mean Double Cluster?
NGC457 always brings a smile.
Thoroughly enjoyed your report and glad after such a run of bad weather that you got out.

FLO hinted at a price between the Ercole and AZ8.
But which end of between I am wondering?
-
Wait and see what the AZ100 is coming with or not John.
It may well need a solid tripod such as yours anyhow.

Are you making up a list things you don’t really need that can be sold for when you buy the new mount. 😁

I just spoke to a colleague about metal for a pier,
guess what I have a 7ft fence post for Palisade fence coming my way.
Looks just like the reinforcing I section you used.

Thank you @markse68, very much appreciated for taking the effort.
Clearly the OC1 is not a direct copy as the dimensions are smaller.
Diameter of tube 56.15 mm
Distance at flat 54.6 mm mainly but varies with the wear.
Thanks @Moonshane, I have done similar on other focusers, but this one has irregular wear in it.
I think this is from where it has sat loaded with photo kit in its previous life.
