@Stu yes please if you would be so kind, thank you 👍
My main question really is one mount made for both 6" models f5 and f8?
If so the 750mm dimension I have indicated is similar to that of my 10".

Yaay, final a gap in the clouds.
Seen it and most pleased.
Then hobbled in and shown to Mrs W,
she asked if the EP had a bit of dirt on it! I think she was joking.
Times like this brings home why I am so enthralled by this fine hobby.

DPD person dropped off a delivery a few minutes ago.
Decided to give a used TV 32mm Plossl a run out again but with a Dioptrx fitted this time.
Last time (3 years ago) I hated it, learnt a lot about EP and my eyes since then of course.
I will report back in the EP section how things go this time around.

Nice EP, I had one and liked it a lot, good value and good optics.
Sadly had to sell as would not come to focus in a Vixen scope I own,
had to be replaced with a Panoptic 27mm.

Nice to see the roof in action, video footage posting was a great idea.
I rather like the curved roof design you are employing,
have I missed a separate build thread?

Calling @Moonshane do you still have your oouk od150l ?..
-
Has no one got one or has this not been seen?
Is anyone able to assist please -
I feel your pain, I too have a concrete observing area.
Managed to drop an EP early this year, while feeling under the weather.
So I feel your pain like it was my own. -
Hi Folks
Thinking of buying a OOUK Dob mount for the OD150 f5 I have similar to the present VX6.
I asked for some measurements from OOUK, but I am concerned what I have been given is wrong. What I am after is the dimension floor to the bottom of the semi circle as marked in red above.
This is my OOUK 10" mount, so not going mad asking for what I already have.
I know a few on here own these, can you help me please. -

Bought the Observers Book of Astronomy a few months ago to replace the one that had gone missing years ago. 🙂
Better than your old Tasco but probably about as usefull. 😁
Oh indeed, that is the luxury version of what I had, think my one was a 30mm objective, plastic lensed jobby.
It was of course the tool that made me first look up.-

Post person not attending, but Daughter No. 1 came bearing fruits of her labour at the charity shop.
Made me very happy as my Trio of childhood books is now completedBut I was shocked at the price increase..... Paid 65p for a 45p jacket price 🤣
They both join my finest guide ever, the first one I ever owned.
Now to search out that terrible Tasco terrestrial hand-held scope that,
I tried oh so hard with to use and see what was in the books.-

No need to cut a normal sleeping bag, there is a solution ready made from the world of surplus: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Original-German-Sleeping-Sleeves-Removable/dp/B007JGBUPC
That is out of stock, but there is a variant available at Military Mart: https://www.militarymart.co.uk/austrian-sniper-sleeping-bag/
As long as you do not mind a used condition, it is hard to not take a punt at that price. I feel sure if you look around there will be other options too.
Looks like the legs are one, not two, so you will need to be practiced at the Sack Race.

Its a real shame but Herefordshire has experienced the worst flooding in 20 years. To give you an idea here are two photos showing Hereford yesterday. The height of the river at the old bridge was 5.5 metres. I have never known this bridge closed but the Police and Council were worried about its safety and close it to vehicles and pedestrians.
If anyone wants one of these photos to use as evidence when making an insurance claim then let me know.
Sorry to see the event cancelled guys,
but knowing the area rather well, blimey that water is soooo high!
I think cancelling was a good call.

Thank you @Stu, sounds even better by the minute.
Really like the sound of this mount.

A question John if I may.
Do the motions work without the slow motions driving,
i.e. can you slew the mount with the slow motions engaged but not being used?
I hope that makes more sense to you than it does to me at present.-

Somehow, there has to be a rethinking of how we live. There seems to be a total disregard for "normal" people for whom having to live within their means is a way of life.
Unlimited electrical power, 1 bedroom apartments $1000.00 a month, let's not talk new car prices.
Fully agree.
Deeply concerns me that I am living through the beginning of the end of mankind.
Waste of food, energy, decadent waste of resources horrifies me.
Steps of soap box quickly-

Sorry Louis but all my glasses are now varifocal, not a single vision pair left.

Something about widefield views.
Low power can be a very relaxing way to track your way around the sky.
I think that is why I always like 150mm f5 Newtonians.-

I wonder what the biggest scope it can handle well?
