  1. Thanks Gorann, no it's not a huge issue on these stars at least but on the brightest of stars it really is quite distracting. It's easily fixed so I might as well. You're correct about the moon, it was at 85% but it was quite low and in the opposite direction. My biggest challenge with this image was the cloud, i got 100 subs but could stack only 60. 😂 Thanks Dave, Is it driving you nuts?
  2. Thanks Brendan, all easily fixed issues. The reflection is pretty ugly though, looks a little like a radioactive symbol.
  3. Thanks Mark, glad you like it.
  4. Thanks Adam, a bit more tinkering needed.
  5. Still testing and tuning the Epsilon 130, I believe I have a pinched mirror due to over tightening the mirror clips. I also want to mask out the mirror clips to remove the reflections around the brighter stars so still work to do. This is just 3 hours in 180 second subs. I upped the gain to 100 and trialed using dark flats instead of darks. I ended up with a much cleaner stack than before so i might continue with gain 100 and gather some short exposures for the stars. Asi2600 through a Tak Epsilon 130 mounted on an AzEq6 Processed in PI, APP and PS. Richard.
  6. Thanks, that makes sense. I wonder could I use a black marker around the edge of mine to get a similar result?
  7. Nice one, well deserved. Strange that you don't get a notification. I got another, although the image details are a little dodgy.😂 https://www.aapod2.com/blog/ldn67
  8. Lovely moody image Brendan. I very much like your understated style.
  9. Nice image Gorann. It's a very feint nebula and you've managed to extract heaps of dust.
  10. That's a superb image Maurice. One thing that interests me, I don't see the primary mirror clip reflections around your bright stars that i see in every other Epsilon image. Is yours modified in some way? Example of mirror clip reflections around Sadr
  11. Thanks Gorann. Looks like a sprite
  12. I'm not sure what the cause is but i get similar issues with mine. You can see the large star with the spike center left is out of focus where as the large star center right is better. My suspicion would be tilt but it's hard to tell. Maybe ccd inspector could give you the answer.
  13. Superb data, thanks for sharing. With this i stretched each stack individually in PS and then combined adding the S11 to red, Ha to green and O111 to blue. I did some selective sharpening and contrast enhancement to the areas of interest. Then in to PI and starnet to create a starless version. Back in to PS and added in a less stretched version in blend mode lighten.
  14. Thanks all, i do enjoy imaging these dark nebulae.
  15. Thanks Ciarán. Hopefully a fruitful winter.
  16. That's handy. One less thing to pack.
  17. Hi Roger, thanks. Once i get it set up correctly i can leave collimation for about 3 months depending on how much i use it. If i had a permanent setup i'm sure it would hold collimation for much longer but as i move it around a lot it needs some tweaking more often. Thanks Dave. Yes it's hard if not impossible to balance the Epsilon too. I have the camera hanging to the side of the scope but on the AzEq6 it seems to guide adequately. I don't get too hung up on it, might be different with your Rainbow.
