  1. Terrfic image Kostas! The atmosphere has been so still these last few days and youve taken full advantage. Very nice detail inide the GRS. Alas I couldn't take my Dob to Abersoch, just got back today 😉
  2. Another derotation of over 11 mins. Used unsharp mask on this as an experiment :
  3. Cheers Martyn! Ive never had much luck getting good seeing on the GRS. I think 2011 was the last time that happened.
  4. Thanks Kostas & Simon. This data was very noisy as a single stack as trans dipped so the Derot has as you say made a big improvement allowing that extra data to be utilised.
  5. Here's a 7 min derotated image from 4.49 UT when conditions had deteriorated :
  6. Thanks Simon. It was almost like a thermal fuzziness rather than jelly seeing.
  7. Hmmm......wonder if its something to do with the latest version. I've only had the problem since using it.
  8. Yeah not sure if it's FC or the cam. I'll try a different usb port and see how it fares in sharpcap. Did restart FC but still had the issues.
  9. Terrific job Kostas! You've earned a week off after this 👏 Love the animation.
  10. Looks very similar time to mine but sharper detail especially in the GRS.
  11. Rule no. 1 is always to check it's being saved to your drive 🙂 The QHY585 was constantly freezing during captures which is something that has gradually gotten worse. I probably need to clean up my registry files.
  12. I'm hopeless on these early morning sessions, like a zombie. It's highly likely the secondary was misting up but never gave it a thought until later.🙄
  13. Thanks Kostas. Trans wasn't great for me either and as you say it was difficult to focus. I had high hopes after working on collimation but seeing is always king and if that doesn't cooperate it's hard work getting anything decent.
  14. Seeing was not great. Quick process of the 1st image from this morning. Conditions seemed to go worse as dawn broke.
  15. Very interesting comparison with lots of detail!
  16. Its a shame about the cloud but always seems to be good seeing with thin cloud. Had that on Mars last winter.
  17. Venus in the early evening was so much easier lol Sounds like you are keeping busy! I got back from a family party last night and could'nt muster the will power to either image Saturn at 24 degrees or be up early this moring for Jupiter so I'm putting all my eggs into the GRS basket tomorrow. 💪
  18. Those are really good Simon! Smooth processing.
  19. Excellent image Kostas! GRS at over 50 degrees tomorrow morning looks the business.
  20. If you had a C14 then 1 min would be better but not with the FL of your setup.🙂
