  1. Quick process from this morning the very first capture. Seeing was average but seemed to fall off after a few mins.
  2. Thanks Pete. Going from Venus to Jupiter is quite a contrast 🙂
  3. You'll be rocking when the good seeing turns up!
  4. Nicely captured Simon! Too much cloud here in Cheshire.
  5. That's a shame the seeing was off, colours look nice. Clear sky didn't turn up here the last 2 mornings. 🙄
  6. Tremendous result! Which ir filter did you use?
  7. Yep, using ir742 as L looks weird but I was very pleased with the red filter results as they made quite a dramatic difference even in good seeing. For sure if you can pull off RGB filters on manual tracking I'll nominate you for a knighthood 😉
  8. Thanks Martyn. I'd completely forgotten about the FC app and was looking through some of my old images when I came across one mounted up all fancy and suddenly remembered 🙂
  9. Have you thought about producing an LRGB image using your mono cam as L? I've used a red filter in the past for this and plan to try an ir685 this time.
  10. Cheers Simon! Would love to to get Saturn soon. Its been about 7 years since I captured the ringed giant.
  11. Thanks Kostas. Think I'll try lower gain next time the seeing is good. I was at 61% on these and noise was pretty bad. The FC app (session browser) has been around for several years but you do have to use FC to capture the images I'm not sure it will work with images from elsewhere. Its all packaged in the FC download file just a matter of extracting it. This is the link : http://www.wonderplanets.de/FireCapture/help/sessionBrowser.html
  12. Nice capture despite the poorer conditions Kostas.
  13. Youve got remarkable detail on Saturn again despite the seeing not being great Martyn. Look forward to seeing what you can get on Jupiter at a highter alt.
  14. This is my final result from August 10th. Got round to digging out Firecaptures excellent image presentation app.
  15. That looks really good! You are ticking all the boxes with that one!
  16. Thanks Kostas. Just been looking at a Jupiter shot I took back in 2012 when Jup was at opposition and at over 50 degrees elev. Quite encouraged to see how close this new image is detail wise considering its over 2 months to oppostion :
  17. That's a lot better. Nicer colour balance no smearing and finer detail though personally I would pull it back a pinch more...just a tiny bit. Remember Jupiter is gas with whispy fine cloud. I know it's very easy to push for detail especially when seeing is good and all that stuff pops out. I do it often but then need to pull it back.
  18. Ive got to be honest Kostas. The steroids are still in your system 🙂 Looks way over processed to me.
  19. For sure as Martyn says 4.14 is the pick of the litter. I still prefer the drizzle version on my big screen though for sure the others look better scaled down. That fine whispy detail is what I'm looking for as Jupiter is a gas planet and some images lose that gaseous feel if the detail is coarser. This is a winjupos combo of 4.05 and 4.14 without drizzle. Much smoother than the single shots but I still prefer the drizzle 😉 I'll check that registax feature thanks Kostas!
  20. Lots of detail there Kostas especially across the polar regions!
  21. For sure the detail is more prominent but when I looked at them on my big monitor the detail looks too bloated and they are quite noisy. Quite often what looks great on my laptop looks rough on my pc 🙂
