  1. Cheers Kostas! I didn't go mad with FPS. Had gain just below 50% so FPS was about 80-90 at 60% histo. I'll post up the capture details later. Sky was a bit hazy
  2. Thanks Neil. The UV was using Gaussian wavelets. I reckon the 462 is about 5x more sensitive than the old qhy5ll.
  3. Quick false colour process from last night combining my new QHY462mono & colour QHY585 : The live view of the 462 looked like a stacked version of the old QHY5L-ii. Seeing was once again very stable. The 462 uv image used here was oversampled probably f20. Need to get the f ratio right.
  4. Thanks Neil. Plenty of data collected for those weeks of cloud lol
  5. Processing 4k colour images is putting my laptop and pc to their limit. I've got a full crescent mosaic from the 25th in the pipeline but for now here is a single capture from the 27th. Auto Dob 250 & QHY5-iii-585+ext+adc+2x ultima= f17
  6. Love the mosaics especially the 1st. Terrific detail on the oversampled shots especially the rille in the alpine valley but personally prefer the cleaner more natural mosaics. Certainly looks like you're having fun in this weather Neil. 😉
  7. Modern astronomy: https://www.modernastronomy.com/shop/cameras/lunar-planetary/qhy-lunar-planetary/qhy5iii462m-mono-camera/
  8. Thanks Kostas. It will be nice to not be spending 90% of processing time dealing with noise 😉
  9. Thanks Neil. Yep, certainly looking forward to it 👍
  10. Thanks Kostas. New 462 mono has arrived so this will be the last Venus with the noisy old cam. Can't believe this weather!
  11. Quick process from tonight. Good seeing again.
  12. Finally got around to finishing a repro :
  13. That's a beauty! Reminds me of one of those power balls I had as a kid. So fascinating how the cloud structure changes in texture and contrast.
  14. Yes, the next couple of weeks look like the sweet spot before the crescent becomes too pronounced.
  15. I've been experimenting. Not keen on using too much noise reduction. Ive got 17 three minute runs from this night all very similar quality as seeing was so stable. Ran the 17 stacks back through as3. Obviously there is no planetary rotation only field rotation but at this elevation it's not much. Results aren't bad but I'll try derotation of video (purely for field rotation) and also derot of images.
  16. That tree is crying out for a laser cannon. Damn it! Nice capture even so Neil.
  17. Nice capture! Seeing has been very good this week and Venus getting larger too, so it's all good 👍
  18. Cheers Kostas! Just to show how noisy these images are this is the UV straight out of registax after dyadic wavelets. 25% stacked from 9 min consisting of 8500 frames.
  19. Thanks Neil. It's seems shooting in broad daylight is making noise worse. This old cam is doing my nut lol Got 40 mins worth from 35 to 25 degrees alt. I shouldn't complain too much as I know there are people with tree issues 🙂 Btw checked collimation and it was still spot on despite the kick!
  20. Quick process from last night. Best conditions I've had so far on Venus. Noise control issues on this so will try again later.
  21. Very nice Kostas! Conditions were very good tonight.
  22. Thanks Neil. Looks properly clear tonight so I'll give it another bash (Venus not the scope) 😉
