  1. Yes, your data. I used pixinsight. DBE, Canon banding removal script, background neutralisation, EZ Soft Stretch, StarXterminator then a range mask over the galaxy, some curves adjustment before adding the stars back in and reducing them a little bit
  2. Not a bad first attempt for sure!! I had a play with the data and it's not that bad, but yes an astronomy specific camera will definitely help. Added your image and my first attempt with my ASI533 and Samyang 135 lens.
  3. Thank you. I reinstalled the V17 and it seems to be working ok now. Not sure what happened there!
  4. For those of you using the Samyang with an APS-C sensor (2600, 268 etc), what are you using to do your plate solving in NINA? ASTAP keeps telling me I need to use the V17 as the field of view is so big, but that's what I have installed. Phil
  5. Thanks Micheal. There was definitely no cable snagging or camera rotation. I'm wondering if I've somehow managed to damage the power cable whilst moving the mount outside which is maybe causing issues with the RA tracking rate. I'll buy another cable to fault diagnose that first. Thank you. Phil
  6. I removed some stiction from somewhere lol. I followed a youtube video for doing RA and DEC. Just loosen some grub screws near the counterweight shaft for the DEC and a similar thing but remove the polar scope for the RA. Took me about 15 min tops
  7. I am so interested in this mount! The size/weight means it can almost double as a star tracker for more remote astrophotography rather than lugging my EQ6r Pro out. Might have to raid the piggy bank in the future! Looking forward to seeing more and more reviews and images come in from this mount. Phil
  8. I've given the mount a little 'tune up', to hopefully help things. I've removed some stiction and tightened the DEC backlash a smidge so we'll see. I'll not be able to test anything for a week or two now as I'm away on holiday but hopefully once I get back I can spend bit more time trying to get to the bottom of this. Phil
  9. EQ6R Pro mount. Your backlash results look good, but your graph on the left looks a bit strange for sure!
  10. I've taken the connector off and given it a bit of a clean, I've changed a few power leads around too so fingers crossed it'll help. I've also done a quick mount tune up to remove some of the stiction in RA and DEC. For info, the guide logs including the calibration and the strange graph report are both here: https://openphdguiding.org/logs/dl/PHD2_logs_DyLG.zip I would ignore the last two guiding logs as I was just messing around there, but you can see from the other log the RA and DEC running away after a minute or so of the guiding assistant. Phil.
  11. Not sure I can add anything that hasn't already been said here Goran, just another simply stunning image. Can't wait to take another look on my 32" colour calibration 4k monitor at home! This work laptop just doesn't do it justice. Phil
  12. I assume you mean powerloss to the mount itself? Or to the guider/mini pc controlling the software etc? Thank you.
  13. Good morning all, For the last few sessions out my guiding has been terrible. Around 3-4" RMS, where previously it had been around 0.7" approx. So, I calibrated last night then ran the guiding assistant. During calibration the orthogonality error was quite high and then during the guiding assistant everything was going ok with a PA error around 3 arc-min, when all of a sudden both RA and DEC just dropped off. I stopped it running as it was never coming back. I checked the mount for any cable snags but nothing was dragging or catching. I was pointing east around maybe 40 degrees? I have the logs from PHD2 but they're at home (I'm at work) so I'll upload them later on, but in the mean time I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas? The DEC calibration looked really strange too, the logs will show what I mean. Thanks, Phil.
  14. If you're going mono then 1.25" filters are a cheaper option if nothing else. They will introduce some vignetting, but I think it should be correctable via flats? I'd definitely do some more research and not just trust me word on it though as I shoot with a 2" filter with a 533 sensor so I have no first hand experience to go on.
  15. https://nighttime-imaging.eu/docs/master/site/tabs/framing/ This talks about images/files being saved as a cache and used so I think it must be saving them somewhere, again I'm at work now so can't check my own version of NINA but I can try again tonight. I didn't get much time last night as the Mrs had been away so wanted a catch up. Hopefully get more time tonight to take a look. Also worth a try, on the image you uploaded further up of your screen at the top right you have image opacity plus other options up there. Does one of them turn off/on your image maybe? Phil
  16. My Risingcam IMX571 should be here tomorrow and I was just wondering if anyone has one attached to the SY135 and how they have achieved the correct back focus? The connection is slightly different to the ASI2600 so just making sure I have everything I need. Phil
  17. 2" filters would work well and you can just use the drop in filter type unless you wanted to go mono. If mono then you might get away with 1.25" if they are close enough to the sensor. As for brand, the world is your oyster. l-enhance, l-extreme, l-ultimate if you are feeling very rich. IDAS NBX/NBZ, I use the new Antlia ALP-T 5nm filter and it is fantastic. They make a 'fast' version for use with fast systems like this Samyang or a RASA etc.
  18. Hmmm ok. I'll have a better look and see if I can figure it out. There's a cache folder somewhere storing your image files for overlay, it's just finding where it stores it.
  19. Under Options, General there's a Sky Survey Cache Folder. Take a look in there, I think that might be where it saves them? Phil
  20. That's lovely. I have a Risingcam IMX571 arriving in the next day or two so my field of view should be the same as that. I might redo this mosaic again with the new camera, or perhaps move onto somewhere else. This is a very busy area of space, lots to see!
  21. NINA has a cache of your files that it uses to overlay them onto the sky atlas. I think if you go to the settings, somewhere in there there's an option to select the location of the cache files. I'm at work so not in front of my PC at the moment so can't confirm.
  22. Good evening everyone, I've been looking at the Keter Store it Out Ultra for a mini shed / observatory. I only use an EQ6r Pro with a Samyang 135mm lens so not a huge set up (might get a slightly bigger scope but it'll only be like 400mm maybe) so I don't need a lot of space. I think everything will fit nicely, however my only concern is the hinges on the lid don't open it very wide. Does anyone know if / where you can buy replacement hinges that open to like 275 degrees or wider? Better yet and electronic / automated version? Thank you, Phil.
  23. This is a work in progress, and I also posted this in the deep sky forum but as it's with the SY135 I thought I'd upload it here too to show what this awesome little lens is capable of. This is a 12 panel mosaic of the Cygnus Region of space, in a 4x3 layout. It's only around 1hour or so of data per panel, so up close it still looks noisy but at this scale it isn't super noticeable. Capture details are the SY135 @f3.5, ASI533MC Pro, Antlia ALP-T 5nm dual band filter, EQ6R Pro, ASI120mm guiding. Controlled via NINA, PHD2 and Green Swamp Server. Editing was all done in Pixinsight. I'd like to keep adding to this, but hopefully my new camera is arriving in the next week so it might have to be finished there and the ASI533 retired and sold on to someone else. Thank you all for looking, Phil.
