  1. I'm likely selling my 533MC Pro within the new couple of weeks if you've not bought one yet. Plus an ASIAIR Pro. Fantastic little camera and I've had some incredible images from it (in my opinion of course ) Phil
  2. Added a few more panels to the mosaic, it's still lacking a lot of integration time per panel but at this scale the noise isn't super noticeable. Currently at 12 panels in a 4x3 mosaic. ASI533, Antlia ALP-T 5nm Dual Band filter, EQ6r-Pro (having some guiding issues with large RA spikes I need to investigate, maybe cables?). NINA, Pixinsight. Approximately 1hour per panel in 3min subs, a couple of panels have a little more as an overlap over two nights. I'll maybe try and add more data to reduce noise, we'll see how kind the cloud Gods are!! Thanks for looking Phil
  3. I used the slightly older IDAS NBX, essentially the NBZ filter for a while and really liked it. Especially for faster optics. I then moved to the Antlia ALP-T filter which is better again, but is also more expensive. I'm currently selling my NBX filter. Phil
  4. Has anyone seen or heard of Wanderer Astro before? I've seen them on Aliexpress selling a powerbox style piece of kit, just wondering if anyone know's anything about them? http://www.wandererastro.com/en/col.jsp?id=114 They have 3 versions.
  5. All my kit is in my signature Bryan . Subs were 3min long. Thank you, Phil.
  6. Thanks Olly. Definitely want to add a fair bit more, but as it's now going to be cloudy/rain for the next week or two...who knows when that'll happen! Phil
  7. Thank you. Yes, I just used photoshop to add the moon to the image at the correct (ish) scale to give a real sense of the size and scale of the image. I definitely think imaging all of the panels in one night is the best way to go as it helps to alleviate a lot of issues with sky conditions. Then I can do another hour per panel another night, then more and more etc. Orrrrrr add more panels? Who knows
  8. Thanks Peter. It's such a busy area of the sky! I definitely want to add more to it, both total time aqcuired but also adding frames to the mosaic to expand it out.
  9. Good morning all. I (stupidly) decided I wanted to do a large mosaic of the cygnus region this year, however having never done one before I jumped straight in gathering hours and hours of data for one area before really knowing what to do. So, last night I decided to go back to square one and take a simple 2x2 panel mosaic of the area around NGC6888. This is only 1 hour of data per panel but I just wanted to see what it would be like, how to do it, merge it, edit it all etc. However, other than it being a bit (very) noisy, I'm quite happy with the result. I've added a second image with the moon at the bottom right to give a sense of scale to the image too. Hopefully i'm going to add more data to this as/when the weather allows. Thanks for looking and any advice or critiques are always welcome. Phil.
  10. Hmmm interesting. I'll look into that, thank you. Phil
  11. No I didn't start the mosaic yet. I just checked the orientation of an image from the night before so I could add that to the framer in NINA and see how to frame everything up. But NINA and PI are telling me two different things. Phil
  12. Good morning all, So I'm considering making a mosaic with my Samyang and ASI533. Just around the Cygnus area for now, just as it's not something I've ever done before. So, in NINA I used to framing wizard to make a 3x4 panel mosaic and I used an image from the previous nights imaging that NINA plate solved to get the orientation of the sensor. It said 195 degrees. However, when I popped the same image into Pixinsight and platesolved it, it said -15 degrees. What gives? Which one is right, and why are they different? Thank you, Phil
  13. There's an xsif file I've uploaded here for you. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AoiFzITJbtlA4UEzIhW6YuuuH7MI?e=mc71cD Nothing amazing, but it's something to work with I hope. Good luck! Phil
  14. I'm curious. I'd like to maybe add a rotator into the mix to allow better framing and I have seen that RVO make a couple of them, either M42 or M48 fitting. Do you think I'll be able to fit this onto my camera, then onto the filter drawer then a small extender (2mm?) onto the samyang lens?
  15. Sadly I would definitely sell the OSC to get the mono. Although, I could use the OSC for star colours and the mono for the narrowband imaging I guess....hmmmm 🤔🤭
  16. And here is another one from the last 3 nights, under a full moon (not much blue/OIII data captured so might add more if time allows). This is a first to me! Situated just to the 'left' of the NGC7000 image I posted above but processed differently. This is about 8hours of total data with the Samyang, Antlia 5nm, ASI533, EQ6r Pro captured in 3min subs. It's a beautiful target so I'll be interested to get more data on it for sure. I'm now wondering if I should go with a mono setup!! Bloody astrophotography always making me want to spend more money lol. Thanks for looking, Phil.

  18. 16 hours on the North American nebula in 4min subs (some added from last year) through the Samyang 135 at F3.6, ASI533, Antlia ALP-T filter. I'm still getting some auto focus issues but hopefully I can iron those out soon. Phil
  19. Starting off the season again with good old NGC7000. Phil
  20. Hi Ash, I'm sorry you're having issues with this! I wonder if this link with the pdf of the manual might help? https://manualzz.com/doc/22279588/instruction-manual I'm sure we can sort something out, but ultimately if it isn't working then you can of course send it back for a refund. Can't charge you for a faulty item. Phil.
