  1. Evening all, Well two clear moonless nights in a row, what a treat! I decided to try and get a good 15 or so hours of data on LDN 1235 the Shark Nebula with my little Redcat51 and Risingcam IMX 571. This is around 955 x 60sec exposures through a Baader L-Pro filter. It took about 13 hours to stack all the data lol. Captured from Bortle 5/6 skies so I'm fairly happy with what I've got. I also tried to do a lot more processing in photoshop as opposed to 100% within Pixinsight, so I might try to re-edit this a couple of times to see if I can improve on things at all. Thanks all for looking and I'm open to comments/criticism. Phil
  2. Thank you both. The detail from the full frame sensor and the Epsilon 130D is crazy! I might actually end up printing this
  3. 5 hours of Ha 100 x 180s and just shy of 10 hours of OIII at 194 x 180s subs, all taken remotely from Spain. Stacked and processed in Pixinsight as an HOO style image. Full resolution can be seen here: https://www.astrobin.com/full/2hqydy/0/ Phil
  4. Welcome to the forum! Washingborough here, just outside Lincoln
  5. Yeah I like those colours. I think that was using a Loraxx method so I might have another go sometime with those colours, see what I can come up with. Thank you
  6. I've been playing around with this data (nothing else to do with the clouds) and following some tutorials online and I've come up with another rendition that brings out more of the background Ha. I think, if I'm being honest, I've probably gone a bit too far with this one but I kinda like the result. Moving forward I'll probably try and find a middle ground but it's always fun to play with data and see what's hidden.
  7. Elephants Trunk Nebula with the Redcat51 and the Risingcam IMX571 through the Antlia 5nm Dualband filter. About 6 1/2 hours or so of data last night, edited in Pixinsight and shown in a kind of HOO palette? Phil
  8. I've just done this and it works for me, but make sure you follow the guide exactly. I made the mistake of installing a whole folder into the CUDA -> bin folder by mistake rather than just a few files and that made the difference to me. Good luck.
  9. Has anyone else noticed that they moved the Yes / No buttons around, or am I just imaging it? I keep clicking "No" automatically thinking it's yes from muscle memory so I'm assuming they have changed it lol
  10. Absolutely incredible. The 3D rendering gives it a super sense of separation from the star field around it.
  11. This is data captured remotely from Spain. Sh2-126. Very tricky (to my newbie skills) to edit this accurately but I'm happy with this result. I'm sure people with greater skills than me could do it more justice though! Phil
  12. Added some more data to this, up to around 11h 40min now and it's definitely made a difference to the depth of the image. Updated version added below, slightly different colour during the processing to keep it more of a reddish colour this time.
  13. Beautiful image, loving the soft touch and colouring.
  14. Another cracking image Peter! One more for me to have a crack at, not expecting anywhere near this result though!
  15. SH2-119, Clamshell Nebula from last night and night before. 7.5 hours of data from the back garden. Redcat51, Risingcam IMX571OSC, 91 x 300s subs, Antlia ALP-T 5nm filter, EQ6-R Pro, NINA. Thank you all for looking.
  16. Managed to grab about 10 1/2 hours over the last week or so on this target with my new (to me) Redcat 51, paired with my Risingcam IMX571. I think there's still more in there if I gather more data, but we'll see what the weather gods bring.
  17. Looks good! Small sensor, same sensor as the Uranus-C from Player one but it's a cooled version. Sony IMX585 sensor. Very low read noise, small pixels. Hopefully not too expensive too? Video here from Cuiv on Youtube.

Unfortunately I've never used Siril so I can't help much there. I use Pixinsight for everything. Seems strange you're getting no colour in your image though as there's obviously a lot of data in each channel.

Then there should be a lot more colour in your image than shown above. Have you ever used Deep Sky Stacker to stack the image, then processed in something like photoshop (or GIMP (the free version)). You should be able to bring out a lot more colour data?

Lots of lovely dusty detail there, but there doesn't seem to be any colour in the image? Was this shot with the OSC version or mono version?
  21. Well done! And although you're right, they're dirty and vignetty...it doesn't matter one jot! The joy of getting the first images like this is the best feeling. Well done again. Onwards and upwards. Phil
  22. Good evening folks. I/we are in the fortunate position that maybe 2 years from now a friend and I will be able to put forward approx £20k (total) for a remote set up, somewhere abroad (location as yet undecided). As I have only ever used an EQ6-R Pro level mount, I'm looking for advice as to some things I should be looking for in a mount for remote astrophotography. I don't want to go crazy, so no 10Micron 2000 etc lol. I'm also looking for advice from people that have a remote set up for the little things that we often don't think about that we'll need to purchase for full remote usage, think's like the ability to take darks/flats etc. I'd also be interested in what people would spend the £20k on with regards to the big purchases. Telescope/camera matching, mount obviously, mono/osc? Filters etc. We're probably going to aim for the fairly widefield side of astro to begin with, for nebula etc. No more than 1000mm F/L, probably closer to around 600mm or so, again advice would be very much appreciated. And I guess anything else I haven't thought to ask Thank you in advance for any tips or advice given. We have a lot of thinking to do but have plenty of time to make decisions, I just want to make the RIGHT decisions as I know technology is moving forward pretty fast at the moment. Phil
  23. That's just incredible Peter! Simply stunning.
