  1. Will do Jeremy. I will give you a clue. It will certainly smell nice !!
  2. A big box from FLO. Ordered mid-afternoon on Friday. Arrived early this morning. Once again great service from our sponsors.
  3. Congratulations Chris. Your enthusiasm to help newcomers to our hobby has always shone through in your videos.
  4. All the best Martin. Enjoy retired life with Ann
  5. Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL.
  6. Stayed clear here most of the night but skies are getting so bright that I had to wait until we’ll after midnight to view the nova. Still getting dimmer by my estimate around 7.7
  7. Another lovely clear night here. Some lovely views along the terminator on the Moon. Will have to wait until midnight before it is dark enough to observe the Nova.
  8. Nice clear skies here and the seeing is very good. Using Ed 120 frac I estimated the nova now to be at mag 7.2
  9. Finally got a brief view about 12:30, but still some light in the sky making magnitude estimating difficult. Thought it to be about 6.6 so quite a rapid drop in progress.
  10. Clear here but still not dark enough to observe.
  11. Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL
  12. Yes Peter. That’s the one. Video is a bit of a joke. Typical American hype. I got it to try out sites around my garden for a future permanent Obsy and for taking on holiday breaks to darker sites. I have not got round to setting it up yet not helped by the fact that it has been wet and windy here for the whole Month of May. Hopefully I will get a chance to try it out soon and will post a review.
  13. I have one but have not set it up yet. There is a video on YouTube showing it being set up.
  14. Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL.
  15. Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL. You have a very good starter scope and there is lots of information here. Just ask.

  18. All I can say is WOW Peter. Outstanding image.
  19. I have. Lunt 50 and regularly use 100x when looking at fine detail. I do this both single and double stacked. Of course the main limiting factor is the seeing conditions.
  20. Finally got to see it after midnight. Certainly obviously brighter than my last view 10 days ago but difficult to put an accurate comparison because of sky brightness.
  21. Clear here but N horizon still not fully dark.
  22. Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL.
  23. Hope to get a chance to view it tonight Jeremy. Been cloudy here for a week .
  24. With the naked eye you should try to find the various constellations. This will help you to learn how to find your way around the night sky. When I started out many years ago I used a device called a planisphere to help. They are still available but now many prefer to use apps on a tablet or phone.
