  5. There’s really no one scope that can do everything. An 8’ Dobsonian is the best purchase you can make for looking at the night sky, Its super simple to use and you will learn so much more. Just pick out a constellation and tour around it. You should be able to pick one up for very little money in the US and if at a later date you have some extra cash for an equatorial mount. you can pop a set of rings on it and use it on the mount. Throw in a reasonably good pair of binoculars, a stable tripod and you have the best of everything for next to nothing. The double setup will also let you share the views with family/friends Have Fun Steve
  6. I'll have this, Just what I was looking for Steve Wll send pm

I've reduced my scope collection to 3, so now its time to start on the cameras Bargain priced for quick sale, Point Grey Grasshopper ICX 285 and Point Grey Flea FL2G ICX 655 Firewire Cams, both mono, both capable of long exposures. ICX 285 needs no introduction used in the Atik 314+ the grasshopper case lends itself well to cooling mods and has a loop through for a second cam. ICX 655 is a 5mp 2448 x 2050 3.45µm pixels 2/3 Sensor 11mm Diagonal. 9. If you have a William optics reducer some of those have a removable nosepiece, which is also SCT thread. Not Many People Know That, Actually said by Peter Sellers impersonating Michael Caine, But Not Many People Know That Cheers again
  10. Doesn't matter if you're looking for a used one, Gives you more options https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/antares-2-t-thread-adaptor.html "Usually in stock" which from RVO means never in stock but might be able to get you one. Happy hunting

  13. Hi Matt Not in any hurry to part with it. I’d like to see it it go to someone who already has one as they can appreciate it for what it is. A 400g DSLR in practically new condition. Stay Well Steve
  14. Canon EOS 1100D Body. Had virtually no use, bought from a student who quickly gave up photgraphy. I had intended to have this converted but the guy i was going to send it to at the time stopped doing the mod. If you're looking for a near new camera to mod then this is ideal, hasn't had its sensor cooked for hours and next to no shutter time. I did notice a small spot on the sensor, I 've attached a pic with it arrowed, (Took about a dozen shots with different light & focus to find it again) battery & Charger included £99 Steve Clearing out the best part of a Bisley cabinet of mainly unused stuff.
  15. That's handy to know Dave. I'll make a note. Wouldn't part with my other one. cheers Steve
  16. Meade Giant Field Tripod From 14" SCT, Late lower model with min height 29" I have two of these, but have bought a pier to create space in a new obsy. so this ones for sale Excellent condition, had developed some pitting after being left in a shed but a quick clean over brought it up nice and shiny and its stayed that way. As good as pier but portable, easily adapted to synta & others with plenty of adapters available. Taking a trip down to S London very shortly from NE so could drop off or meet en route. £195
  17. Hi These simply convert a free USB 3.0 port on your computer to a 1000mb speed Network / ethernet port. USB cables, especially USB 3.0 must me kept as short as possible., a couple of meters. Network could span the globe. In short this would give you a network port in your shed / obsy. Hope this helps Steve
  18. Looked at Venus in daylight a few times this year. Had planned ahead for this. Should be able to see the moon, But Venus is probably impossible due to the minimal illumination. However that’s not going to stop us is it. EDIT misread illumination of Venus, Its nearly 8% so definitely on the cards for the entire event. Just the clouds to contend with. Potentially dangerous and if you’re going to align on sun don’t forget to cover finder. Steve Attached view from NE England. Centred on Venus, Just before start.
